Have I imagined that we were getting clarification on everything at 2pm today?

There's a news special on BBC1 at 3pm today including the PM's statement.

I think what’s on the Parliament channel at 215pm is a repeat of last night. It’s showing a live prime minister’s statement at 330pm.

Oh so the UK Gov are now recommending face coverings in public places. You'd have thought that an important step to announce

Report
rosecreakybex · 11/05/2020 14:23

Oh right okay. So we can meet up but only one person.

And the face coverings thing would have surely been a big one to have mentioned last night..?

Plus, it's weds the back to work comes in to action. Not today.

I despair

That’s not correct. It’s only in certain circumstances.

Is anyone else confused about annexe a for nursery workers and childminders, they will not be able to socially distance

Report
JemimaPuddleCat · 11/05/2020 14:27

Okay, I assumed people would read for more information themselves, I was summarising...

I correct myself to say the UK Gov have recommended that people should “wear a face covering in enclosed spaces where social distancing is not always possible and they come into contact with others that they do not normally meet, for example on public transport or in some shops”

We run after school and holiday care - now we're also in Scotland, but no idea if our English counterparts would be allowed to open under this.

That’s very different to what you wrote in your earlier post jemima. People are loving being covid warriors and giving them more ammunition through misleading posts isn’t helpful.

There appears to be no further clarification or clear information in the document regarding schools I guess individual HTs are just going to have to make it up as they go along.

I have correctly my accidentally misleading comment. Is that more helpful?

What more information are you looking for? I imagine with a forecast date now in mind, schools will be frantically trying to come up with something resembling a plan, and further publication will be released closer to June 1st, if numbers allow.
I think they are being careful not to give too much information just now, as many would assume that having that information to hand meant that the return to schools would be a definite, if that makes sense?

I think yesterday (and today) might well show us that the daily briefings are being abandoned.

I wonder why, if that's the case...

So interesting that they say all primary children should be able to return to school for a month before summer. So only a few weeks after other years.
