We booked a caravan on the 29th of June for one week in the Lake District.
According to Boris they might not be open until July the earliest.

Do you really think this may be the case?

Not sure if I should cancel our dog's kennels so we get some money back .
I'm so upset 😭

I thought it had been pretty much universally assumed that holidays for summer 2020 will have to be postponed.
PM has said hospitality industries wont be open until 1st July at the earliest, so I would say that answers your question. Sorry you're going to miss your holiday.

It’s not might not, it’s will not, so he has confirmed holiday won’t be going ahead. Sorry OP

I still had a little bit of hope this may go ahead

Rhymingrabbit no I didn't get my memo to say all UK holidays were cancelled this summer and that's definitely not what was said in the briefing yesterday. Sadly yes I think June may not be a goer but let's not write off July and August just yet.

I think it’s clear this is a no.

Well you might get into the caravan, but no pubs restaurants etc will be open. So unless you just wish to self cater and go for walks?

OP what a shame you were clinging onto hope, how disappointing! Maybe you will be able to go a few days late? I don't know! We were booked for Italy round the same time and are just hoping to get some money back for the flights. We are over the disappointment as we had a fair idea from Feb half term that it wouldn't happen.

Definitely not going to happen.

Bluntness - we havent got a holiday booked, but yes, self cater and go for walks os exactly what we do most holidays on Cornwall. That's why we go!

See if there's any clarity once the 50 page explanatory document is published later today.

We will postpone it to a later date if we can or to next year.
If the park was open but all restaurants closed I'd still go. I'd like to go for a walk somewhere else rather than around my house.
I'm really sad but it is what it is.

We had a cottage booked for half term week which we cancelled at the start of lockdown and we are currently negotiating the cancellation (we paid 50% deposit) of a cottage in Wales which we booked for August.
We did think about going away in half term, taking all our own food, and just going for walks but the owner wasn’t keen.
Holidays will have to wait.
