Thank God we've got Nicola Sturgeon.

She's not perfect, no politician is.

But she's straight and clear and concise.

People in Scotland know very very little has changed.

Westminster are really showing their true colours. No wonder we have 30,000 plus deaths. Fucking shambles.

Agree, what a shambles that PM speech tonight was

And for every poster who is dying to tell me 'You can keep her'.... Don't worry, we will, we certainly will.

I've got lots of friends and family in England, I feel for them and worry about them too. They are sensible and will stick to the stay home rules, but God knows what the dafties will do.

I disagree. It was pretty obvious that things haven't changed for us other than you can go out more than once a day - why is that a shambles?? He also added things may progress over the next few months. The economy has to get moving slowly, so if you can go back to work, you are able to. You can defo keep Nicola.

I'm glad it was clear to you Remmy, I've a feeling you'll be in the minority.

I think to completely ignore the issue of households mixing and shielding is a massive mistake.
Yes, the fact that he didn’t say anything means it should be assumed nothing has changed but not all people are astute enough to make that connection.
Unless they spell that out at the press conference tomorrow there will be carnage

@ssd
What do you want to happen? Stay on lockdown with the country cancelled until when. This virus isn't going anywhere

Report
Crimples · 10/05/2020 21:02

@ssd indeed, gladly keep her. At least she is capable of delivering information clearly and acknowledging people’s concerns.
She will no doubt be raging after that as she had asked the PM to make it clear that Scotland would not be following any further changes to the advice for now and he failed to do so.

I was literally just thinking that.

I was the clearest No you could be. Couldn't stand her. How the world changes Confused

I was shocked to see Drakeford not make a total balls up on it tbh.

I've been considering a move to Scotland (or Canada) for some time now. Well done Nicola.

Agreed op. Boris comes across as having a wet dream of being a leader, whereas she is leading.

Report
ssd · 10/05/2020 21:08

I want Scotland to be cautious and stay on lockdown for this further 3 weeks till we see how the r number is doing then. No one is saying the economy isn't a disaster right now, anywhere, but more lives will be lost if we come out too early and a second, harder lockdown is inevitable.

Also, I want a straightforward politician who stands up every night and speaks to us clearly and truthfully, and admit if they don't know the answer or if they've made mistakes.

I don't want blunder and confusion.

I don't want slogans. I'm not an idiot I don't need soundbites.

Yep also glad we have Nicola. Never liked her before but I trust what she says I feel she's doing well. We will be keeping her

I wish she was Prime Minister and I wish I was living in Scotland.

Keep Nicola and become independent if you want to. I have no interest in her political point scoring.

Report
ssd · 10/05/2020 21:12

More than anything, I want someone I can trust. And I trust her. I think she has got people's best interests at heart. I don't feel like that with Boris Johnson and his government.

@BunsyGirl, this isn't about point scoring or independence, this is about keeping Scottish people alive.

I think both her & BJ are playing silly little political games with each other.

I do think she is a much clearer speaker than BJ and I think she initially did a good job of managing the pandemic but think she is walking a fine line at the moment.

The care gone situation is Scotland is dire.
