I'm wondering too sad

hettie Sun 10-May-20 19:22:39

He didn't say, it's not on the cards yet

AllTheCakes Sun 10-May-20 19:22:40

No mention at all. Surely that’s one of the most important things...

Bromeliad Sun 10-May-20 19:23:14

It's increasingly clear that as far as they're concerned only the economy matters.

Redolent Sun 10-May-20 19:23:35

From an economic perspective it’s not important whatsoever so they’re not dealing with it yet.

I didn't hear anything about it. Just had a massive row with DH because I interpreted the new guidelines to understand that that my parents can sit in our large rural garden. Dont see the difference between that and going to a park.

PianoTuner567 Sun 10-May-20 19:23:44

No mention, therefore no relaxation of that rule

Redwinestillfine Sun 10-May-20 19:24:19

It doesn't look like we do..

Greysparkles Sun 10-May-20 19:24:21

There's a step for going to restaurants.... Ffs.

Although I'm sure they'll be more clarity when he answers questions tomorrow hmm

Just stay alert basically! But you can make your own decisions 're seeing friends and family from what I gather.

Tiramisuiloveyou Sun 10-May-20 19:25:18

I think if you want you and your family to stay safe just carry on as we are. Use the telephone, social media etc

lifeisgoodmostofthetime Sun 10-May-20 19:25:21

Probably doesn't want to give people false hope

RichardMarxisinnocent Sun 10-May-20 19:26:24

I want some idea of when people living alone are going to be allowed to spend time with another human being. Solitary confinement with no end in sight is shit.

WhiteChocTwix Sun 10-May-20 19:26:42

Ffs I'm so disappointed he didn't address seeing family. Absolutely gutted. 🤦‍♀️

No you can't!

msmith501 Sun 10-May-20 19:28:21

Wasn't the thing about going to the park and exercising still for people of the same household whereas family coming to your garden would be mixing households. Admittedly not a clear speech and in fact I found it confusing to understand what, if anything, has changed apart from getting back to work - although he should have emphasised the stay safe at work message much stronger in my view.

OrangeFluff Sun 10-May-20 19:28:42

I’m living alone and this was the one thing I desperately wanted an update on sad

TheHonestTruth100 Sun 10-May-20 19:28:49

Where in earth did you get that from? confused He emphasised being able to have unlimited outside exercise, being about to sit in the park but only in your households. Never once did he mention mixing households was on the cards.

Clemmieandareallybigbunfight Sun 10-May-20 19:30:39

If they're not going to give a timescale for family contacts people are just going to give up and do it anyway.

RichardMarxisinnocent Sun 10-May-20 19:30:51

Exactly. I don't want to go to a fucking restaurant, or walk round he local residential streets twice a day, or sunbathe in the park. I want to see someone who I can hug. I want to know when I might be able to do that, and when I might be able to see my boyfriend and friends.

dollface19 Sun 10-May-20 19:32:44

We don't !! It's a load of shit !! So vague basically taking no responsibility anymore ! If u do see family or a partner you don't live woth and u get COVID then we told u so will be the slogan !!

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet Sun 10-May-20 19:33:56

To be perfectly honest, my main priorities right now are seeing family and being able to travel again on holiday. So frustrating that neither seemed to feature in the shit show.

Spinakker Sun 10-May-20 19:34:03

Oh sorry, that was what my DH assumed from the speech. I was in and out of the room.
