If my mum came and lived with us in our home, would that be breaking lockdown rules?

No.

FuckYouVirus Sat 09-May-20 21:05:54

Yes, however I'd be asking myself a few questions before making that decision.

dementedpixie Sat 09-May-20 21:06:48

Yes she could come if she was going to stay for the duration of the rest of lockdown.

Methtones Sat 09-May-20 21:14:28

*no you are not breaking lockdown

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite Sat 09-May-20 21:16:53

Yes, she can come and live with you for the rest of lockdown or permanently. It isn't breaking any rules.

Ilets Sat 09-May-20 21:19:16

Yes that's fine

RhymingRabbit3 Sat 09-May-20 21:20:43

Your post is a bit confusing in the way it is worded but yes your mum can move in, no you will not be breaking the rules.

@FuckYouVirus What questions?

I thought we couldn't move in with relatives in the middle of lockdown?

KitKatKit Sat 09-May-20 21:23:44

You would not be breaking rules by merging households. Might be sensible to have her and your household isolate for at least a week before she comes though to ensure nobody has symptoms.

AppearingNormal Sat 09-May-20 21:33:19

It is going against ' the rules '. Unless she is escaping an unsafe situation.

dementedpixie Sat 09-May-20 21:35:35

Maybe its unsafe for her mental health. As long as she isnt going to and fro then its fine

FuckYouVirus Sun 10-May-20 00:22:40

I'd be asking..

Is it safe ?
Whats the likelihood of either house having corona?
What are the consequences of not moving in with each other? Does that risk out weight the the risk of corona ?

Make a well informed risk assessment and do what is right for your family.

It isn't against the rules.

excitedmumtobe87 Sun 10-May-20 02:43:25

Yes. It’s allowed to change your place of residence so long as you then stay there rather than going back and forth.

excitedmumtobe87 Sun 10-May-20 02:44:45

Although if there’s any chance any of you could have it obviously enforce isolation rules it within the house for 14 days. I’m guessing you know that though.
