Any one had it? Got it? Just posting out of interest and not worry.

Think I possibly have on my little toe. Seeing if it goes to the others.

Of course I could have just banged it.

Research suggests it might show up in younger adults - I'm too old to fit in that category!

Toe is red, swollen and shiny possible blistery looking thing.

Me! One toe also started today. Red, shiny and blistered. Looks like I’ve banged it but know I haven’t. I’m really worried about it to be honest. Sad

I didn’t know Covid toes was a real symptom until the other day. I thought people were referring to the state of your toes when your gel toenail varnish has worn off and you haven’t been able to get a pedicure. 😂

I have what I thought was chilblains but now I think is more likely to be covid toes. I am 48.

How are you with them Countess? Do you have any other symptoms? I seem otherwise fine, maybe a bit more tired than normal. My DH has had a cough/ fever for the past week though.

Could be gout, brought on by all the pheasant and port we've been consuming during lockdown.

Report
minmooch · 09/05/2020 08:48

@rslsys now I'm going to have to google images of gout in toes to see if mine looks like that! Alcohol consumption has gone up a tad during lockdown.

Still only the one toe with symptoms so hopefully mine is nothing to do with Covid. On reading it suggests that if you have Covid toe you may have had Covid either mildly or asymptotically and are coming to the end. So maybe I'm hoping it is COVID toe and I've had it mildly. Doubt I'd be tested so it's all guesswork anyway!

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel how many toes are affected? Did they appear at the same time?

Care or dare to share a photo?

My sister (living with us) has this on several toes. DS has just been ill, he had a negative test but GP said not to trust it, so now we are thinking she may have covid toes and passed it on to DS. Who knows!!

@FootsieMcTootsie if it is covid toe research suggests they appear at the end of having a mild or asymptomatic dose?

Ah that makes me feel better @minmooch I read that it was caused by blood clots and started with panicking. How are your toes today?

Please excuse the nail varnish but this is my toe this morning for anyone who wants to compare toe photos (maybe this should be in sporner corner!)

I have had what I thought was chilblains on pretty much all my toes and some fingers. Absolute agony! It seemed strange at the time as I hadn't suffered with them since I was a child, which was 35 years ago. I didn't have any other symptoms, so no idea what to think!

What is covid toe?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 09/05/2020 11:06

Minmooch, no other symptoms except some very very slight wheezing for weeks before the toe stuff appeared.
I am definitely not worried. If it really is covid then I have been lucky and had it very mildly indeed.

Mimooch mine looked like that. I had it on several toes. No idea if it was Covid or something else but it was my only 'symptom'. I read it is more common in otherwise asymptomatic patients.

slippery, Covid toe has been identified as less common symptom of coronavirus. Some people covid, develop a strange rash/redness/blisters on their toes, hence the name Covid toe.

My husband has this a few weeks ago along with losing his sense of smell. We didn't have a clue what it was until there was an article on the BBC and we realised he probably had coronavirus Confused
