Anybody else's street look like a party?

All the neighbours standing round sitting out in the front chatting and someone is even giving away free beer tonight 💃🏻

Party time! When did Boris lift the lockdown? I must have missed it 😁

In the street next to mine they have paddling pools and swing ball etc out for the kids on the small field opposite. There is a bbq and chairs and tables set up. The adults look like they are social distancing, the kids aren't.

Bunting up and apparantly a street quizz is happening, but no worries everyone will be 2m apart! I will not be attending, DS had Covid five weeks ago and it was an anxious time trying to make sure others in our household didn't catch it.

Everyone is keeping more than 2m apart if anything, but they're still able to socialise in the front gardens. I'm not sure why that would be wrong? When you say your neighbours are sitting out in the front, are they not social distancing?

@MRex Only the elderly ones! Think it will be hard to distance when the bar opens later..

My mums road are - they are sitting in the front gardens with tea and cake and wine/beer.

I raised an eyebrow but she socially distances so up to them I guess

No one has done anything on my street.
But I don’t think I’ve seen/heard anyone clap for careers either

Nothing in my street thankfully. I know people say they will be social distancing but after a few drinks , will that really be the case?

No but I'm in NI and VE Day isn't such a big deal here.

Not a thing here

They tend to go out to clap on Thursday nights so we will see what happens come 3.00 but otherwise nothing .

We have a big field/nature walk thing opposite our house. People have set up tables and chairs, giant snakes and ladders and connect 4 for the children.

Someone is setting up a bbq.

My six year old is currently looking at them out the window and crying. She understands why we can’t go out but can’t understand why all the other children are playing. We only moved here at the end of jan and she’s not got any fiends here yet (hadn’t yet been offered a school place here when schools shut) so it is really shit for her but she does understand what’s going on and keeps asking if they will catch the virus.

We have a scarecrow trail where we are (with social distancing rules) so we went out (myself and daughter for daily exercise) but we had to give up after a bit as there were lots of people in the pedestrian areas with tables set up and outside chatting.

Definitely feels like lockdown is over where I am, and it's an area where people have been responsible.

Thank goodness none of this nationalistic shite here.

Neighbours have bunting out but the road is pretty quiet generally. Sounds like everyone is in their own back gardens like us. Not sure if it will get going later. We're staying in tonight, going to watch The Downton Abbey movie and keep ourselves to ourselves.

I've just noticed that the terrace of houses opposite me has bunting up, kids are playing out together and the adults are all congregated chatting and drinking in/outside one front garden.

My road isn't (and we usually have lots of community events) but I don't see anything wrong with people sitting out the front chatting so long as everyone is 2 metres apart? Obviously the ones having g bbq's and kids mixing is wrong!

My street is fairly quiet, only one house with bunting up. I stuck my head out of the door at 11, but no one was around for the 2 minute silence. I live in a terrace, we are in our back gardens, (the fences are low by the houses so we're having chats over the fences)

The street opposites mine a lot of houses are decorated and now a lot of people are out on their fronts. I'm not sure if everyone there is from the street but everyone is keeping distance (will they were when I last time I went out the front about an hour ago)

TBF my area all seem to be taking lockdown seriously, most people's cars don't move of a weekend, and our local park isn't rammed.

It’s ridiculous here.
Loads of cars that don’t belong to people who live here. Music booming can hear it all down the street. People out on their fronts drinking and no sign of social distancing.......knobs Angry

Spamellahamella · 08/05/2020 16:14

Nothing doing here. Quite a few houses decorated but people are just out in their own (back) gardens.

All very quiet, just a few birds flying around, playing target practice on all the cars.

@DJMumzy Nationalistic shite? Excuse you?????? Thousands of men (& women) died for this country and for you to have your freedom. You wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for us winning WW2! Have some God damned respect!!

Plenty of people in their front gardens chatting, but no music, and people aren't mingling but staying sat in their own gardens and eating their own food and only their own drinks. Here I think it's lovely.
