Partner and I had symptons last week and she got tested last Thursday.

Received POSITIVE result on Sunday night.

Just now she received (same text and email) a NEGATIVE result.

Obviously, we've been in total isolation all week and now she and I are panicking and don't really know what to make of what's been going on. She's a key worker and obviously has missed a week of important service delivery.

Any ideas would be amazing.

Wow! That’s pretty appalling.
However, to be on the safe side I would follow the advice from the positive result. Was it just one of you that was tested? So it isn’t that one of you is pos & one of neg? It reads that just yr partner was tested so I assume not.
There was a helpline number with the barcode bit for if you have problems logging your barcode, I doubt they could help but they may have a number to give you that could help? However it is bank holiday so may not be manned today.

I would assume positive to be safe but how ridiculous!

There is literally nobody you can approach who knows anything about this stuff. Literally nobody.

Can't get through on NHS line.

No contact numbers for the testing thing.

We spoke to the local doctor surgery who should have received a letter about my partner, and they haven't but they said that we needed to go and get retested OVER 7 DAYS AFTER THE SYMPTOMS STARTED! What is the point of that?!?

So we booked in, and have just got back. The site is about the size of...I don't know; it's massive. Maybe 10-20 football pitches, and there was us (two in a car) and 3 other cars there. 4 Cars in total. Tens of staff sitting around sunbathing.

I'm absolutely furious.

I should add that the reason that we're so upset about this is that my partner is seriously asthmatic, so the positive result was a huge worry for us, and now we have no idea whether or not she has had it and we don't have to worry so much, or if she is still very much in danger.

This country.

Just coming on to add I had a test this week and centre was also empty. Not sure why they aren’t extending testing , I know a lot of research progs like the covid app are sending anyone with any symptoms but clearly they can take more. Maybe they’re waiting for all areas to have same availability.

That test result is madness! I’m sorry OP that would stress me out too.
