Working from home

I've tried searching and can't find any analysis about the actual proportion of the workforce who are working out of the home (essential or well distanced), at home, off sick, retired, unemployed or furloughed. The media seems to have an implicit assumption that people go out to work or aren't working, but there's probably almost half the workforce still working from home surely. The majority of people I know are still working, barring a few who work in areas like sport. Am I missing something and happen to know all of the only home workers in the country as colleagues, friends, neighbours, old colleagues, group members etc? Surely those stats are actually very important to know and to track while lockdown eases. It feels like home working is almost invisible when it's actually a majority experience.

All of the people at the multi-national IT company where my DH works are working from home.

My DSis & BIL are wfh.
Friends in Accountancy/Finance are wfh.
Local Housing Association office staff are wfh.
IME, most people I know are wfh.

I phoned British Gas and spoke to someone wfh.

I am the only person I know working from home, aside from my work colleagues.

Best friend is a carer so goes to the home she works at. Her husband was furloughed, but will be back next week from his place of work.

My mum is retired. Mil is. Dad works for the NHS so goes out.

Most of my friends either have jobs that they must go into or are furloughed.

My company has 900 out of 1300 working. All will be back from next week. We have 350 that are able to work from home (basically all office staff) and all will be. No plans to be back in the office until Christmas at least.

About 60 of us have never been furloughed.
