My DC has been coughing since the school ski trip in Feb. Half the group came back with dry coughs and many are still coughing. Sometimes it almost disappears but it’s got worse again with some hearing loss and GP has given antibiotics for a week and to call back if no better. Over 2 months of coughing now. The GP was sure it was covid and it seems that they’ve seen a fair amount of similar cases.

My husband is on his second set of antibiotics since being unwell at the start of April. Secondary bacterial infections are very common apparently. He wasn’t tested at the CoVid assessment centre but they said they were as sure as he could be that he had it. We were skiing in Italy at half term. My daughter was unwell when we came back. She was tested, it was negative. My son became unwell on 17th, me later that same week, then my daughter and then my husband,

Strange isn’t it, to last so long?

Could be whooping cough? That lasts forever.

I was reading a story earlier of a skiing trip party who went to Italy end Feb and 17/23 have since been tested positive. Imagine that plane home too. Probably infected most of the plane if they hadn’t actually caught it. Clearly those skiing trips in Feb and March caused the problems here initially. I think going forward that will be the lesson learned. As soon as an outbreak is noticed, ALL air travel is suspended. The coughing could be some residual irritation/damage to lungs/airways
