I honestly don't know. 12 months is a long time

Social distancing measures, (but without “lockdown”) yes I would

A full lockdown as we have now for another year, no I would not.

no

Do you mean another 12 weeks?

If so, yes.

If 12 months, I think most people would struggle.

No. Quality of life has to come into things at some point. 12 months is too long.

12 months?! I would but id be angry about it. Why 12 months op?

I meant 12 months. As realistically there won’t be a vaccine. Just pondering how long people would keep going with this.

No chance.

Yes, because I’m currently shielding, and if I had the additional freedoms of ‘only’ the current lockdown/rigid social distancing, then life would expand so much I’d feel invincible and able to cope with anything

Same rules as now? No.

No I won’t be sticking to it for 12 months and I do not believe many would.

Thankfully no government is stupid enough to allow it to go on that long as the economy would never survive. A lot of other countries are starting to open back up and work back to normality and so will we shortly

The virus isn’t going anywhere, we have no vaccine. You can’t keep people on lockdown for 12 months!

CV will be around for a long time. I’m not sure what will change in 3 weeks / 3 months or 12 months.

realistically there will be no vaccine
How do you know this? Why would they even try to make one if there was no chance?

In answer to your question, yes I would would lockdown for 12 months. I'm expecting to have to do this anyway as we are shielding.

I’m not saying we should be in lockdown for that long. I don’t see how people would stay inside for another 3 months let alone 12 months. I’m guessing the government would lose all control!

Yes, I'll do what needs to be done 🤷‍♀️

Yes, if necessary.

We're only trying to "flatten the curve" with lockdown i.e. spread the infections over a longer period of time. We're not trying to avoid it entirely by waiting indoors till a vaccine arrives.
(This doesn't necessarily apply to very high risk/shielded group)

Report
BirdieFriendReturns · 28/04/2020 15:39

Even if there is a vaccine - we won’t all be vaccinated in 12 months. The government can’t even test 15,000 people per day.

No. I think there will come a point where the mental cost will be too much.

Report
Pissflapflip · 28/04/2020 15:40

No. I'd have zero income and I'm a single parent. We would lose everything and the kids would have a year without seeing their dad. No.

Report
OneMomentInHistory · 28/04/2020 15:40

No, and I can't see many other people keeping up this level of lockdown for more than another month. Social distancing, yes.

Would people really stay indoors for a year? I feel sorry for people shielding but wonder if the government will pay them SSP? Or how the country would fund furloughs etc.

Mostly. May need to take more exercise, we'll see what my jeans' verdict on that point is. 🤔
