How are we going to survive with all the Visit Orlando adverts!!

How are we going to survive when every other advert STILL seems to be for Visit Orlando, Disney or Universal? It's been like this since January and shows no sign of stopping, Haha!
Every time they come on the kids are literally screaming at the TV. Its teasing us so bad. I wouldn't mind, we have holidays to Walt Disney World booked for October 2020 and February 2021.

I know what you mean op, i had to cancel my Florida holiday this year (not covid-19 related) and it's all i see on tv, online.. very depressing 😂😭

We are hoping to not have to cancel October holiday to Walt Disney World. Literally in what seems like every ad break on TV is either an advert for Walt Disney World, Universal or Visit Orlando.

If you have holidays to Disney booked for October and February then why are the adverts teasing you? I don't get it.
Ok the October holiday might be scuppered but presumably your holiday in February will go ahead?
In truth OP this does read like a thinly veiled attempt at bragging. (Though why you would want to boast on an anonymous forum I gave no idea)

People save up and go on holiday, just because someone else doesnt does that mean NOBODY should ever go?
I took my kids for a once in a lifetime holiday when it worked out for me. I would love to go back but probably wont ever be able to do but I dont begrudge anyone who can.
Its just a lighthearted thread venting frustrations, not every thread has to be doom and gloom or of world impportance thats why there are a gazillion topics on here.

Christ just because someone can do something another person cant its not boasting! We are all different with different circumstances, get over it or are you just desperate to make other people feel bad just because you dont want them to have fun?

I doubt anyone will get to go on holiday for a very long time . Just dont watch the adverts ,its just a holiday u can go anytime when this badtime is over so just look forward to that time.

Aw op! I feel for you. WDW is our home away from home. This summer we have a dream Florida holiday planned. The keys for diving and canoeing; followed by Sanibel to enjoy the beach and shark tooth hunting, followed by Orlando for the parks and shopping then finally Disney’s Vero Beach to wind down. Away for a little over a month.

I haven’t given up hope yet and we can rebook...but we ‘live’ in Florida every summer and it feels like I wait all year to go home. This holiday is a particularly important one, which we’ve been saving for on the side for years. It’s Sod’s law isn’t it.

The loss of a holiday is nothing compared to the loss of a family member or a friend, so at the moment, whilst a bit gutted, I realise I’m lucky, probably the same as you...but you’re right, reminders of my happy place get me choked up. I watched a home video of ‘Happily Ever After’ earlier today and end up sobbing my heart out. It’s silly, but I suppose it’s also a reminder of how ‘not normal’ things are...and that’s stressful...and sad.

I should think that unless we have a second peak, October would possibly be able to go ahead, who knows. As I said, I’m holding out hope for the end of July and until BA cancels my holiday, I won’t let anyone tell me different. I’m prepared for bad news, but if I can go, I’ll be on that plane in a heart beat.

I'm with you OP. Not that my kids are nagging... but so many adverts feel utterly stupid & irrelevant right now. I feel terrible for the people who will be out of work, but that doesn't stop my gut feelings.

Family gatherings to use some Lidl product? What a load of BS.
Any form of holiday, fun park = utter nonsense.
Trips to the pub or even the beach, meh, don't kid me.
Restaurants, nice clothes, 'impressing visitors': what rubbish.
