Do you think this is true?

How will it happen with children moving up/starting school etc?

Not again.

Not another thread about this.

For the love of God just look up all the previous threads about this.

Why do we need another thread on this?

The answer is that nobody knows the answer to these questions.

Italian schools are not going back until September. There has been no announcement about British/UK schools.

Haven't Wales said they're not returning til September?

No one knows when schools will reopen or how it will look (to be honest I don't think the government do yet either). Anything said is just supposition based on that person's opinion.

We knew a month ago that school was done until September - it was one of the reasons they held off closing as it would mean the school year was done. (Canada). UK haven’t yet confirmed.

@Mummypig2020 in terms of transition, schools are thinking about this now and it is a priority. I would imagine schools will have to have a slightly longer transition for pupils and those who may be really unsettled will be able to have a more graduated settling in period.

If you contact the school to ask, they won't be able to tell you anything for certain yet but we are certainly having those conversations now.

I think maybe we are being a little harsh. Yes it's another. Thread and maybe the title should have been something different but I'm assuming the OP just wanted to know about transition and that's a fair question to be honest, even if we don't know when we are back.

National offer day was only just over a week ago so I'd imagine some parents have the same questions?

There has been no announcement about British/UK schools.

There has been about Scottish schools, the Education Minister has said it’ll be at least August here.

I think if anyone had a definitive answer and confirmed plan of exactly what is going to happen then they wouldn't be fucking around on mumsnet and would be up at the podium doing a 5pm National update.

It's frustrating. 2 of mine are starting school in September but it's tough tits for now - we don't know.

I'm a teacher and I have no idea. I do know that transition will be a priority and my school are discussing whether some teachers should move up with their current class (EEF Research if anyone is interested).

I don't know why people open up these posts just to moan about them. You can tell from the title what it is, so why read? Anyway, I flit from thinking it will be September to after May half term. My son is in Year 6 and I am very worried about his transition to secondary school.

I think the places that have said this break up earlier for summer so England and Wales have more time to work with.
I'm hoping the second half of the summer term but only time will tell.

FFS the politicians said at the time they closed them that it was unlikely schools would reopen until after the summer.
Did you listen to the news at the time or tried to research it? Why oh why don't people keep up? Shock

I am certain our school will open on 1st June, to begin the second half-term. I’ve said it all along.

I'm so intrigued as to why some women are as butch as they are on MN - some perfect examples on this thread. Do you all get some sort of thrill as you type your batch response? Knowing you may well make the original poster feel a bit shit? Are you all the same in real life, or is it the security of anonymity that enables?

Last week, primary school children werelinked with potentially returning as soon as May 11, but education chiefs have since said that they are looking intogradually opening schools again in June.

Secondary Schools

For secondary school students, there is no current timetable as to when they will return – but may not be back until September

^^ From news article, primary reopen sooner due to childcare.
