Covid

How long is too long to have a fever?

DP had mild Covid-19 symptoms at the beginning of lockdown and made a quick recovery after a week. For the past week he has had the same symptoms again mildly and I’m concerned that his fever hasn’t broken yet after 8 days.

We’ve run out of all pain killers in the house to take his temperature down. What should be my next port of call? His symptoms aren’t getting worse, just making no improvement at all.

We had the same for ds 4. 111 and gp consultations said covid. Temp lasted 9 days. I'd ring 111

Thank you. I think we’re just hesitant to call 111 over it as he isn’t too ill in the grand scheme of things but he’s making no improvement.

As he's not deteriorating apart from temp staying up, give the GP. a call on Monday to see if he has a secondary infection , or 111 if goes further up over weekend . Best to get it checked.
