Apologies if this has already been discussed. I am looking for good news stories of those who are vulnerable (particularly elderly and hypertension) but have recovered from Covid 19?

My dear aunt (more like a mum to me) is 72 with hypertension which is managed by medication. I am worried for her and have seen no good news stories of recovery once in these two vulnerable categories. If she catches it, is there a chance of recovery?

Last night I spoke to friends who are growing increasingly worried and pessimistic for their own family members. I wanted to be positive, I am usually the positive one of the group, but I am finding it difficult. I cannot find any stats relating to recovery rate of those in vulnerable groups.

Does anyone have any positive stories they can share?

I don't know anyone in the UK who has it but an elderly relative in Washington had it. He is 82 with a lung condition and tested positive(Tested because he's in a nursing home). He was tired and weaker than usual for about two weeks but had no other symptoms and he's back to normal now.

A friend who is in her forties but has severe asthma had it and is absolutely fine. I hope your aunt will be ok. Even with really vulnerable people the vast majority do actually recover. I know it's scary though.

I am on immunosuppressants. I am in the shielding group. I haven't had a test but I think I have had it. I thought I was going to die. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I rang my GP as I didn't want to go to the hospital. They prescribed antibiotics and I slowly got better. There were some very dark days though. I went to a huge funeral just before lockdown and I think I got it there.
