Where is Boris Johnson?

Anyone else think it's really odd that we haven't seen hide nor hair of him since his video when he just came out of hospital?

He seemed remarkably well on that for someone who has come out of ICU, but despite that we've not heard a peep out of him. Not even a photo of him doing the NHS clap which he did previously and wouldn't take much setting up if he was still feeling unwell. Politicians like him know the value of such images but there's zilch. I think it's strange. Something is not adding up.

Any thoughts?

He's acting like a grown up, sensible politician for once, and not playing at being a celebrity.

He'll be back at work the sooner for it.

My suggestion would be that he's stringing out his convalescence as long as possible. Gives the opportunity to say 'oh it's such a shame the response has turned to shit, if only I hadn't been ill was able to take a more active role, it would all have been fabulous.'

That being said, I think he'll have to come back next week.

He's acting like a grown up, sensible politician for once, and not playing at being a celebrity.. Exactly - he's not behaving like he normally does. You have to wonder why.

It's also possible that he's waiting for it to be time to release some of the restrictions. Then he can say 'I'm back, and I have good news, you can all go out again - thank goodness for me' or something similar!

have you ever recovered from being in ICU ? it takes a while!

He’s recovering from almost dying. Ffs

Back leading the country on Monday. Two weeks is about as quick as it’s possible to recover from ICU, so I’m not sure what you’re complaining about.

@fluffdeloop You're right, it is also possible that it simply is the sensible thing to do!

Because he only recently came out of intensive care? Bloody hell, what nasty responses from some posters

Report
Flaxmeadow · 24/04/2020 12:11

Maybe he's suffered a degree of lung damage or other complication and has to recuperate for longer. I don't think this is particularly unusual?

He will be back at work on Monday having survived a disease that has killed thousands. That feeling that "Something is not adding up" is just paranoia.

He’s hiding because he’s a Fairweather politician who has no fucking clue how to do his job and he’s given himself a pass to avoid it for as long as possible to avoid scrutiny and criticism over his governments piss poor handling of this entire situation

He’s ill. Give him a break (and I am not a supporter).

I have been in ICU yes. I certainly wasn't able to record a highly articulate 5 minute video 3 days coming out of it like he did. It's that video and his apparent wellness in it that is making me wonder, because everything since then doesn't match how he portrayed himself in that recording.

I'm not complaining. I sincerely hope he is OK and recovering and that everything is well and good with him and Carrie. I'm still allowed to wonder at things, though.

Are you his doctor OP? If not then leave it out FGS - he was very ill and is recuperating.

Why is it so unbelievable that the man is getting better out of the public eye? Why should you think that there is more to it?

The usual nasty comments about someone who has been seriously ill. Would you say this about anyone else?
Some people need to take a good look at themselves.

If you're not complaining then why did you say something is not adding up?

Wondering, huh.

Indeed.. Something wouldn’t have added up if he’d come back sooner! People would have said “he clearly wasn’t actually that ill!” Ironically these would probably be the same people thinking there’s something up with him now for not being more visible.

Some people seem determined to find conspiracies in everything!
