Want to send friend a gift

Hi all,

A close friend has just had an awful time of late, one of her parent's has been v poorly and recently passed away. I'd like to send her something to let her know I'm thinking of her - not flowers (she's had lots) or biscuits (don't seem particularly sincere), any ideas?

Normally I'd just be able to have a long chat with a cuppa, it's quite hard not being able to be there for friends in the usual way (video calling just isn't the same ☹️)

Happy to spend up to about £30.

Many thanks in anticipation.

No ideas. I lost my mum this year and honestly, I wouldn't have cared less for a gift. Just write a heartfelt message on a card. Flowers are fine but, as you've stated, she has received plenty.

If I'd received anything like biscuits or any gift I'd had thought something along the lines of 'Wtf, I've lost my mum and they think sending me ........... Is going to make me feel better'. Words from the heart will tell her you are thinking of her. A gift would demean the enormity of the event.

You could make a hamper with contents like Candles, chocolate, treats, slippers, hand cream or send a hotel chocolate delivery

Its such a personal thing - all we can do is give ideas that would work for us, but chances are that they may fall very flat. e.g. you and above poster think that a food gift is crap, whereas I love a food gift because I rarely look after myself or eat well when upset, but it reminds me that someone is thinking of me.
I would also love a nice photo, either of two of us with a cheesy meme - like friends forever, or with the loved one that passed on, but I bet there are plenty that would also find such a thing cheesy...
Go with your heart, and what you know about your friend... x

Thanks all, you're right. Think might just stick with a card.
