Just wondering really?
Whether we should be worried? In ITU for a few days, then shuttled off to Chequers,

He's recovering, surely?

He was in intensive care! That is the definition of very ill. And now he is quite rightly recuperating.

Report
Gazelda · 17/04/2020 16:07

I think it was made pretty clear that he was gravely ill. He said himself that at one point it could have gone either way.
He's recuperating at Chequers. As he should be.

He released that video thanking the NHS, he looked quite well on that. I think he might start slowly coming back in the next week or so but it'll still be a while before he's at things like the daily briefing.

He was in intensive care. How is that not very sick? Just because he wasn't reported to be on a ventilator doesn't mean he hasn't been very ill. He looked ill just before he went in. He's recovering quite rightly. He shouldn't be doing anything else at this point quite rightly.

I see your point OP. There is no proof he is still alive.

They perhaps wouldn’t announce he was dead in case it caused mass hysteria?

Interesting. Hadn’t thought he may not be recuperating as I just believed it!

However I think he is probably fine.

I have COVID and I haven't needed ICU or even hospital I'm 4 weeks from initial symptoms and still nowhere near well. I expect Mr Johnson is still feeling pretty rough.

MrsFogi · 17/04/2020 16:14

He'll come back after it is all done and dusted and therefore will be able to blame others for any bad decisions etc

Crystal87 · 17/04/2020 16:17

He was very sick, he said himself it could have gone either way. There's a video of him speaking on his Twitter so he is alive, but he still looks quite ill to me.

God can the man not be allowed a bit of a rest. He done a video message after leaving hospital

If you get this virus, when you leave intensive care do you reckon your fancy popping out after? Or do you imagine you might feel pretty rough for a while?

Trumpspeach · 17/04/2020 16:19

He's probably exhausted. It will take him weeks to fully recover.

NYCDreaming · 17/04/2020 16:19

He has been seen though. He did a recorded message. He looked like shit but he was well enough to get dressed up and thank the nurses:

If you read some of the threads on here some people are ill for about a month, even without needing hodpital treatment they are up and down

He was obviously really ill to have been in icu. He will probably need a few weeks to totally recover

Emmacb82 · 17/04/2020 16:24

They say for every day you spend in intensive care, it takes a week to recover. Obviously he wasn’t ventilated so I don’t expect him to be out of action for more than 3 weeks but he needs time out of the limelight to properly recuperate. I think he will start to come back to work before the end of this new lockdown ends. For now, he needs some peace and time to spend with Carrie

He released that video thanking the NHS, he looked quite well on that. no, he really didn't.

He has been seen though ok - i hadnt seen it, and was idly musing.

I think it was because they down played how bad he was, and it was "oh he is doing well", "he's not that bad" but is in ITU....

My experience of Covid-19 is the same as @Porcupineinwaiting - a mild/moderate case is pretty debilitating, never mind one that ends up in hospital. He's going to need some weeks out, I would expect.

Report
Bluntness100 · 17/04/2020 17:03

I don’t think you’ve kept up to date, they certainly were not saying he’s not that bad when he was in critical care. Even statements like he’s now sitting up and interacting with the staff clearly tell you he couldn’t do that before. The man was very ill and he still looked it in his statement where he clearly stated it could have went either way.

HuloBeraal · 17/04/2020 17:09

My brother had COVID. Didn’t need hospital. A month later he’s still quite tired after climbing up the stairs.

Report
MrsFezziwig · 17/04/2020 17:09

Why would you expect to see him while he’s recuperating? Surely if you're running the country you need to be well enough to do so, which clearly he won’t be yet if he’s just been in intensive care.

Report
YogaLite · 17/04/2020 17:09

I reckon he will return in May.

I've been in icu, you really don't get a trip there unless you're really quite poorly. You don't come out feeling great no matter what put you in there.

I'm noBoris fan but I think we should all accept he's going to need time to recuperate.

What part of he's in intensive care made you think he wasn't that poorly? Confused
