Anyone high risk and still want it over with?

I am high risk as I am on immune suppressants. Mid 40s with 2 children under 6. I've been isolating for 6 weeks and kids and husband have been isolating for 4 weeks. We get online food deliveries and live in a village so when we go out for a walk we see no one.

I watched a talk tonight by the new scientist magazine. Very reputable source with a prestigious panel of experts.

I have been thinking that I would have to isolate until a vaccine is available but the experts seem to think most people will have had it by the time a vaccine is ready.

I'm lucky, my family are with me, we have food and a garden. I have lost my job and cant really look for another as I am too scared to leave the house even when lockdown is finished.

But theres a part of me that just wants to get the virus and get it over. As I said I'm high risk so no idea if I would survive. Also theres my kids and husband and there are no guarantees with them. But living in fear and in hiding when it seems we will inevitably get it is testing my patience. I know I lack patience but I dont have enough money to isolate until theres a vaccine - if one can be produced at all.

Anyone else feel they just want it over and done with?

I'm in a similar situation so sympathise. My Mum is also extremely vulnerable. It's been foing round in my mind for a while, and I keep alternating between thinking I'll do whatever it takes to stay safe. Then realising like you have, that it's a bloody long time to hide away. No advice really. But I think I'll sit out the next month or so and re evaluate. Even though we wont necessary be any more informed by then. It's just a coping mechanism really- taking it week by week or month by month. I'll also know by May / June time how I'll be off financially. And if they are thinking of sending schools back before September, ill have to address that anyway as I'm a single parent and have nobody else to do school run.

I'm not high risk and would prefer to get it over with, but that's a very different situation to you OP.
