How can that be? They've not had CV in the country that long have they? How have they had their peak already ? I'm confused.

It’s trump!

He says whatever he thinks at any given moment.

He's delusional.

Possibly as a medical condition as well as his oblivious-to-the-truth outlook in life.

The figures will probably be fudged and he will say he has MAGA (again), huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge eyeroll, but more will keep dying as he seems to think prayer will work.

Interesting, when Trump says he thinks the US is past the peak he's a delusional lunatic, but when Professor Neil Ferhuspn says he thinks US cases peaked 2 weeks ago... he's presumably a perfectly sane, rational scientist?

sorry should say "uk cases" and "Neil Ferguson"

I'm genuinely confused as how the whole of the US has passed the peak when covid only landed on their shores a few weeks ago. The southern states have hardly even been touched by the virus yet or am I missing something?

I wouldn’t believe Trump if he said today was yesterday’s tomorrow.

I heard this on the news earlier, he's a nutcase who says whatever pops into his head I think 🤷🏻‍♀️

Trump is a liar, a dissembler, a psychopath, people say he’s gakked up to the eyeballs at all times and/or has dementia. He’s barely human. To be ignored.

Neil Ferguson has an interesting history, he’s not as on-the-nose as he’d like to present himself. (Article in FT yesterday I think)

Trump has both eyes firmly fixed on his reelection in November, and is desperate to get the American economy up and running again.
He will say whatever it takes to make that happen.
You can do that when you live in a delusional parallel universe.

To be fair, trump is a delusional lunatic whether he thinks the US is past its peak or not

He makes for a amusing daily news story each day that's for sure.

I thought it a puzzling statement as the US is huge and different States will peak at different times. NY might hopefully have peaked but that's only one city. A bit like saying that Europe peaked when Italy did when in reality most countries were a way behind.

The way he talked about States 'who did a great job therefore had hardly any cases' seemed to completely miss the fact that these places will likely have their turn at a later date (particularly given he's determined to get everywhere opened up again). Bizarre.

Trump wants it to be past the peak, so he thinks all he has to do is say it is, and it’ll become a self fulfilling prophecy.

The guy just makes it up as he goes along.

Don’t worry, by next week he wouldn’t have said that today Grin

He's probably past his peak - well past I imagine.

😁I think that's my problem. Glad it's not just me then that thinks it's madness.

Well that's his usual modus operandi surely?
If he says something often enough everyone will believe it because he's said that's how it is, so it is.
