Does anyone know about TESCO delivery slots?

I'm a delivery pass but don't qualify for any priority.
I've managed to get the odd slot booked but seems more by chance.

I'm trying to shop for my 93 year old Mum ( lives 300 miles away) who isn't listed as vulnerable because she doesn't have any of the conditions listed.

Is there any best time of day to log in and see if slots have become available?

I read it was midnight but not sure if that's a myth?

Yes it is midnight, I thought supermarkets prioritised elderly as well?

The new slots become available at midnight, however you do need to get onto the site about 11.45/11.50 and just keep refreshing the page, you will then go into a queue at about 11.50 and hopefully you should get a slot, sometime slots become available about 2.15am when people don't check out in time, but it also seems they put random slots on at random times, possible when they have more available or because people have cancelled their slots, we find ourselves checking constantly, it's a pain in the backside but needs must. We have managed to get slots at lest every 10 days.

I couldn’t get Tesco at all for my oldsters but Morrison’s had some available occasionally. They are also doing a scene where they’ll deliver to vulnerable people if they ring the local store, pay contactless on delivery. If she’s anywhere near a Morrison’s of course.

Scheme not scene

I've managed to get click and collect slots by logging on at midnight.

Times slots become available at midnight for the next available date on their schedule but that is for slots in 3 weeks time.

I finally get to collect my shopping on Saturday after booking it 3 weeks ago.

For a quicker delivery I have found Morrisons food boxes very good. They have kept us stocked up whilst waiting for the Tesco collection date to arrive. I think I'm going to alternate bug Tesco shops with Morrisons boxes from now on.

I've given up on Tesco

Ocado seem to release slots at about 2pm in our area so I just do that and order for anywhere from the following day to about four days later.

I've stayed up til midnight and still only managed to get a single click & collect slot (was trying to get one for myself and my parents). Asda seems to have better availability near us and I've picked up Sainsburys click & collect slots at a few days notice this week. I think you can register as over 70 at Sainsburys for a priority delivery - my parents are ok to drive to collect so I've not tried it but believe it involves several hours on hold!

They become available between 11:30pm and 12:30am, you get chucked out of the app/website into a queue. There's yet to be a slot left when I've got back in 🤷‍♀️ i have succeeded in getting slots when I've logged on around 3am (perks of having a baby who doesn't sleep). As others said, those are for three weeks ahead, but I've got a few slots for the next day by checking early afternoon.

Would ASDA be any good for you? They've had much better availability for me if you check early hours or even just in the morning.

Thanks everyone.

Oh dear- was hoping the midnight thing was not true!

I'm in my mid 60s myself and midnight is way past my bedtime!

She can get Morrisons deliveries- my sister has opened an account with them for her and she has a store nearby - so might check that out. Thanks.

@Spam88 Thanks. The last one I got which was for me actually as she didn't need anything then, about 3 weeks back, I looked at site around 2pm and there were a few slots for the next day.

I've managed to get deliveries for next day or the day after at around 10 am so it may be random times.

Jingling, Tesco have published the following phone number for those who can't safely shop in store to help them get access to priority slots. It is: 0800 917 7359. It's for existing online customers- does your mum have her own account or are you shopping for her using your own account? If it's the former, ask her to phone them and ask for a slot.

I think it really depends where you are - I was on the phone to my brother last Sunday and he managed to get a click and collect for himself and our dad in different areas for that week. I've been trying for weeks and can't get anything - and I had a delivery pass.

Seems to be random for me and my area too.... Slots were suddenly available at 8am last week (after checking at 6am) and this week at 1pm (checked at 12pm)....my tip is to leave items in your basket and then recheck for slots. Good luck.

I managed to get one for work last night by going on at midnight. There were odd slots available for all the weeks showing and full choice for the last day showing.

I don’t think it allows you to book more than one a week at the moment (which is fair enough) as I’ve been getting some for myself, my mum and my workplace so it’s interesting to see how availability is different on each account.

Keep looking during the day, I got a delivery slot this week by checking at 5pm earlier this week. People also cancel orders

Won't it depend on your local shop and their deliveries?

There seems to be a Tesco delivery van at various neighbours of mine everyday, maybe there are plenty of vans available near me but I'm in an area where there are few cases, I'm sure the whole country isn't the same

I've been very lucky & have had no problems getting Tesco slots. I log in just before 2350 and usually get put in a queue just after that. Most times I've got back in just after midnight & got a slot then. They're usually all gone by 0030. Its definitely worth staying up

Presume people who forgot to check out when they managed to get a slot

The last two weeks I have got slots at around 7.30/8am so I wouldn’t bother staying up till midnight.

Though we think you can’t see slots if you already have a booking with Tesco.

I managed to get one for Tuesday 12th May yesterday, there were loads of slots for every day of week 12-18th May, This morning I easily got a slot on Tuesday 19th May, the whole days slots were available, I am a midweek delivery saver customer. You are allowed 1 slot a week now rather than 1 a day, so once you have booked your slot, whole week says unavailable

Nomaj I am able to have 2 Tesco deliveries booked at any one time (and always have)- I’m not in a vulnerable group or anything. Easier said than done though!
I’ve been staying up until midnight repeatedly and been unsuccessful.
I logged on yesterday evening and randomly there were slots up to 18th May available for click and collect. Starting at 6am. Maybe I’ve just never checked before, but that seems early and long dated.

Has anyone got a tesco click and collect booked and the option to book a second slot but not finding any dates available? If I wait until my next delivery that means I have to have 3 weeks plus between click and collects.

I looked at around 6am the other day and there were quite a few slots available. I looked today and there weren't so I think it's luck really! (I am just looking to be nosey!).
