How awful. Thankfully her baby is OK.

It is awful, but why the hell was she working whilst pregnant!

I believe she was on mat leave

She was working but not with Coronavirus patients.

Pregnant women aren’t in the shielded group, guidance is work at home if you can but of course many, like nurses, can’t. There’s no obvious recourse for paying pregnant women to not work during this time just for being pregnant, it would need something new putting in

The bbc news report didn’t say she was working though. She could have still caught covid when off work.

Horribly sad either way.

Agree it is truly hideous but I am fed up of the 'x NHS workers have died'

We have lost over 12,000 people.

It's likely that given the NHS is a huge employer a certain percentage of those staff will be amongst the 12.000

The implication is that she died getting Covid from a patient. It's awful sensationalism

It's so very sad. Regardless of whether she caught the virus at work or through some other means, she was only 28, and her baby girl is going to have to grow up without her mum. It's heartbreaking.

Are you implying that she brought it on herself?
