The Government update from Westminster is signed on the 24hrBBC news channel, but not on BBC1 on Sky.

Last week some one asked her about lack of social distancing in a council. She replied that she was unaware but would look into it as soon as the press conference was over. No waffling, just said she'd look at it. Very refreshing.

Nope. Not impressed at all. Muddled over what is a key worker, late to clarify on businesses with more than one outlet, still not sent out all letters to the vulnerable to ensure they can get slots at supermarkets etc. Also stoking flames re PPE equipment that had already been debunked.

There’s a campaign to make Westminster’s broadcasts equally accessible (a couple of announcements have failed to be interpreted including the lockdown one) but it’s heading for legal stages now as the Gov keep blaming the BBC.

FWIW Sturgeon does appear to be calm in handling Covid-19, but for years she's been a one-trick pony, banging on and on about another IndyRef and failing to deal with all Scotland's more pressing problems.

I have some respect for her, based on the Covid stuff, but where she fails is her appointment of posts such as CMO. We should have the best scientists as advisors. Not just those that are SNP.

In Scotland , not an SNP fan, but I do think Ms Sturgeon is sincere in her efforts to protect lives , and I do think she and her team have recognised the care home issue and the numbers dying outside hospital.
However, they are nowhere on the exit strategy - she has said it’s too early to think about and gets shirty if challenged , and they have no plans on the economy.
Let’s face it, if we had been independent we would be screwed as we would not have received the Boris bail-out & as pp has said, even though we did, she was pretty slow to enact it, and only today has matched what is happening in England.
So calm, caring but a bit clueless.

I agree that she is dealing with it in an open honest way but think she jumped the gun on closing loads of businesses that had no need to close and could have continued to work safely with measures put in place, my DH being one of them, he is a structural engineer for agricultural buildings he works mainly alone but because all the suppliers closed and they couldn’t get concrete they had no choice but to close, his employer is now looking at getting things back up and running though as farmers still need lambing and milking sheds etc

And she must be secretly thanking God that Scotland is still in the UK and not independent- we could never have survived this financial damage to the economy without the huge resources of the UK to bail us out.
Most of her briefings just seem to be parroting what has already been said by Westminster. Apart from when she cocks up the business relief to companies with more than one retail outlet. Or tells lies about PPE being given to England and not Scotland.

Northern Ireland also has the highest rate of anti depressant usage in the U.K., highest suicide rates, and the worst academic record (they also have the best due to grammar schools), but also the worst for those not at a grammar.
We also have far worse waiting lists for NHS.
