Covid

Is nausea and sickness a symptom?

Does anyone know? My daughter (9) has been awake since 4 after a bad dream and has tried to be sick a few times. Would think it was a sickness bug had we not been at home for weeks. Little bit worried so any advice appreciated

Personally I think it is yes. My DH had COVID badly and was nauseous (and had a bad stomach for a day). My DS had fever, cough and sore throat. I had cough for 4 weeks - no fever. DD had a few days of nausea. Who knows but I think it is likely.

No temperature. Had a sore throat for a couple of days but been fine in herself. Both myself and hubby have been achy and we've all felt a bit coldy

I suspected I had it, but wasn't sure. Didn't have a cough or temp. Just a sore throat for a few days and a bit of a tight chest, felt very fatigued and achy to the point I just wanted to lie down. Then had one day of wobbly tummy, feeling nauseous for a day and one bout of horrific diarrhoea. The worry of whether it was covid was worse than what I actually experienced. I actually self isolated in my bedroom for a week. That was a week ago and today I have woken with a sore throat again, my head pounding, glands feeling like they're up, tummy ache and generally tired. I haven't been anywhere since the schools closed.

I hope your DD is ok. Try not to worry. So much easier said than done I know. Make sure she has plenty of fluids and if she feels sick then stick to plain foods, no dairy.

If you feel at any point you need doctors help then call them. I spoke to a dr yesterday for my dd and she prescribed antibiotics over the phone, whereas previously they would have been cautious. She said to start immediately as they want to keep everyone well and don't want to take risks.

She's had some toast and a drink so I'm guessing not a stomach bug. Gone back to sleep now as she's been up since 4.

I had really bad vomiting and diarrhoea with my fever and cough. I don't know if it was Covid, however had it twice now. I had a two week gap between.

According to China figures about 5% of people have had vomiting.

If you look at the Worldometer there are symptoms and how often they occur
