.. these threads about 'when will lockdown end?' are driving me CRAZY.
It's all speculation. No-one knows.
That's all.

If I could "like" this, I would!

Also all the people going 'ha! No way will this end until the 21st of never 2034!!'

We just don't know. It's hard for people worried about finances but the only way to cope is to take it a day at a time.

Well realistically, lockdown will last for the next three months.

However, at worst, we could be living a life similar to this for the next 10 years or so. It could change the way the human race functions - children growing up only knowing school at home etc.

@Howfar12 That's very extreme. Not impossible I grant you but I'm really hoping for a better outcome than that!

This was exactly what I was saying is driving me crazy- people speculating about something they literally know nothing about.
No-one knows what is going to happen.

Wow, you’re well-informed!

Oh give over 😂😂

Agreed OP. There's always got to be one hasn't there @howfar

I really do not expect lockdown to last the next 3 months judging by other countries and certainly don't think it'll change the next 10 years 😂 but wow it really does baffle me how people on here absolutely thrive off scaremongering.

10 years?!

I said worst case, but obviously reading during lockdown is difficult for some

Report
mummyje20 · 14/04/2020 19:06

But why did you come on this thread to say that @HowFar12?!
If you want to spread this scaremongering crap, there's a good 174748292 threads literally asking for your opinion.
This thread didn't.

If it lasts more than a few months some people will just decide life isn't worth living without the freedoms they normally enjoy so will just flount the rules anyway.

@mummyje20 I was just stating my opinion - I wasn’t trying to scare anyone, just putting things into perspective

Maybe some people want to speculate.... obviously no one knows for sure. But I see no harm in thinking about what factors go into making that decision and when it may be.

Yes, Me tooooo!

I'm getting fed up of self satisfied threads started by someone who has no medical or economic knowledge at all, proclaiming that they just "know" lockdown will last until December 2025 "just to be on the safe side", or "its the right and sensible thing to do".

Bullshit. You know nothing about it- noone knows when lockdown will end so dont come on here acting like some wise old mystic who has superior and secret knowledge that the rest of us arent privy to. Oh, and your mate Dave's cousin Linda's dog groomer's neighbour who works in a bank isn't a reliable source for what the government has planned so STFU.

phew that felt good to say! Thanks OP.

OP I know, it’s just going round in circles. Maybe some should try to live in the present, go day to day. Mindfulness and all that. Easier said than done, I get that, but it’s new territory and hopefully this will pass sooner rather than later.

Interesting that you know this even thought the government havent even decided this yet! Oh, and China didnt even lock down for that long.

Report
Howfar12 · 14/04/2020 19:36

I said realistically @alexis

Report
AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 14/04/2020 22:36

Well if we are talking realistically, then the economy wont survive that long! Lockdown would end up causing more deaths than corona would. 3 million people have already been pushed into poverty. 3 MILLION.

colouringinpro · 14/04/2020 22:41

I agree totally. But it's grounded in the fact that we as humans simply cannot deal with this degree of uncertainty and unpredictability. We are desperate for something solid to hold onto, to pin our thoughts and efforts onto. It's really tough at the moment.
