Does anyone know how his works? Are they placing all your shopping in bags, or do you have to pack it all yourself, into your own bags once you get there?

Good question, I'm collecting my first next week and am clueless.

Tesco are now using bags so I guess they'll just put it near your car and you load it?

My sister went the other week and all her stuff was bagged up. The guy brought them out. Left the area and then my sister was allowed to go and pick it up. She said the whole thing took 5 mins.

DH picked up our order a few days ago. He was asked to open the boot and step away, the guy loaded all the shopping in to the boot himself. It was bagged.

Mine was all bagged, brought out on the plastic pallets, I just had to load it. I think that's fairly standard

Thanks for the replies. I have an order to collect tomorrow and as stupid as it sounds, I'm nervous about it.

I have one more question please...

What do you need to collect it?? The card it was paid with?

At my one they just wanted the name order was in. Though it says order number or bank card the man told me they can't see the order number. (I wasn't sure if it was in my maiden name or married)
I'd take the card just in case though.

They approach your car asking for your name. It's a good idea to write you name and order number on a piece of paper to hold up if you don't want to open your window.

They wheel a pallet out to your car with shopping crates on.

They retreat to a distance (4 meters) and double check your name. They tell you the print out is on the top and to leave any substitutions you don't want a crate.

Then they serve the next customer.

We had 7 meters between us and the next guy loading up his car.

Items are all in bags at the moment to make collection quicker.

It's quite a safe system.

You just need your name and order number to collect.
