Who do you think the government will blame?
I will bet money they won't take any responsibility whatsoever for that themselves.

They'll blame China. They already are.
And China has already been blaming the West.

It's all a right mess. Good luck to us all.

Well Matt Hancock is blaming hcp for using up all the PPE.
I expect they'll also somehow blame Corbyn.
I'm sure the EU will find itself in the firing line.

Most depressing of all, their followers is swallow every word.

Could it be to do with the number of people we have in a smaller space? We're pretty crowded compared to some parts of Europe.

Discobar · 12/04/2020 20:52

Our population density is higher than most. But let's not facts get in the way of a witch hunt eh

Yes we might be, but then again we
might not. Time will tell.

I wonder if it's because we are so densely populated on really a very small island?

They’ll blame us for not sticking to their guidance, it’ll never be their fault.

Diane Abbot and maybe Carole Baskin?

Large highly urban population. But sure.

I was discussing this with my friend. I think the government acted too slowly but we don't understand why people didn't take a bit of responsibility? I don't mean going about your day to day business but not going to the pub or around a friends for a party? Just small changes. We could see what was going to happen from watching the news.

I don't see how they can predict this.

Yes some idiots are ignoring the rules. But most of us are not! We have massively shut our lives down. Apart from banning excercise we can't be any more cut off. We do nothing now.

We don't go to school
Many have stopped working
We don't go to weddings, parties, funerals, etc
We don't go shopping for fun now.
We don't go to arcades or beaches
No pubs, clubs, cafes, restaurants or bars.

No playgroup, softplay, swimming, sports, baby groups, clubs, etc.

No holidays, no days out to zoos, museums, farms historical buildings etc

No seeing family, friends etc

Minimal people allowed in shops and pharmacies.

Nobody is allowed near the drs surgery or to get a hair cut etc.

Other than curl up on the floor and stop buying food what can we do?

I'm also sick of people moaning about others. Susan can be out in her car but she writes on the local FB page when she's back because she's furious to see people shopping. Don't even get her started with the family with a child on a bike. Do they not understand the rules? Has it not occured to Susan that there's no crime in being happy on your walk? Everyone's scared to breathe incase they do the wrong thing.

As a nation I think we are doing our best. Loads of good kind people are donating, offering to help in the community. Our kids have lost everything yet they keep going. They've done things for the elderly. They've painted rainbows. They have tried to work from home. They have lost absolutely every other part of their lives due to this virus.

I don't see why the UK should get it the worst??? Yes a few twits need a fine and a telling off. But most of us have given up a massive lot to get on board with this.

I personally think most of us should be proud. Considering they are only doing this to slow the spread. In the long run it appears we don't stand a chance until a vaccine. That's a terrifying thought. When the restrictions lift I hope boris gives us choices. Because I don't fancy risking this virus when I have young children under 5.

KenDodd - We have the second highest population level after Germany in Western Europe.

Totally agree Lexi. My social interaction is at 1pc of normal levels. Ditto everyone I know. We are doing remarkably well considering the shocking impact on us all.

It's predicted because the lockdown (such as it is) came very late after all that everybody needs to get it herd immunity shit that was sold to the public.

I don't see why the UK should get it the worst???
It's not a punishment! The UK doesn't have such a strict lockdown compared to many countries and isn't testing as many people. Don't you think we should be asking questions?

Is Dominic Cummings back at work? He is probably writing up guidance on how it is the fault of immigrants, Muslims, the EU, benefit claimants etc and definitely not the government.

This is a marathon not a sprint. We need to get the numbers down quickly to prevent the hospitals being overwhelmed but then we will need to keep going with major restrictions on our lives for months. It’s not sustainable to make it so hard that people won’t comply.

Report
YangShanPo · 12/04/2020 21:05

All these massive Nightingale hospitals they are building make me think they are expecting way more cases.

Report

They will blame the people of the country. They already are, saying today that the severity depends on people’s behaviour 😡
