Finally a benefit of being chemo bald in these strange times.

I have just finished chemo and have a baldy head, my niehgbours chose the end of my path to have a long catch up, I gave it a while and then I went out to the end of my drive and said in manner most polite to my neighbours who were chatting at length (think ten or fifteen minutes, not fleeting) I am a vulnerable person health wise, can you please move your chat to your own side of the road.

My neighbour said you are alright we won't be much longer....

I whipped off my wig and said you need to move now, and move he did , fairly rapidly considering his age. Grin

I really don't mean to be a tit (as it's a genuine question but I imagine it will come across wrongly!) but if they are chatting at the end of your path, past the end of your drive, how would it affect you?

See that sounds really snarky and I don't mean it to be! I am a bald shielding (though not chemo) person myself so understand the worry. Obviously they shouldn't be chatting close to each other and are dicks for doing that, but they could be told that rather than to cross the road?

I really don't mean to be an arse, I'm wondering if there is something I am missing. Applaud the wig removal though! I don't wear one so frighten people 24/7 well not any more because I can't leave the fucking house!

You also benefit from the "oh shit what am I going to do about my roots" dilemma.

My eyebrows resemble my FIL's at this stage Hmm

I agree with you Webuilt and was thinking exactly the same thing myself.

Surely if you were in the house and the people chatting were on the pavement at the end of your driveway, it was a perfectly reasonable distance away and it was unnecessary to ask them to move? You put yourself more at risk by going out there to confront them than by just leaving them to it.

I definitely thought this would be a no hairdresser thread. This is even better

Love your post OP, not to mention your boldness 😉

Me, well, at the best of times I get fed up with people stopping underneath my windows to 'catch up', argue, do drug deals, etc. And this, of course, is far from the best of times.

They needed telling, and it was a telling they won't forget!
