I’ve signed up to be a volunteer and going to start the training next week. Wonder if I will be given a letter or something so I don’t get stopped when I’m out and about shopping and going to pharmacies? Anybody have any experience?

A letter isn’t going to prevent you from being stopped in the first place!

You shouldn’t need one anyway though, you can just say what your reason is.

I've signed up to a scheme. We had to send a photo. They put these on an ID. We've been advised to save these to our phones in case we are stopped. Havent actually had my log on details yet so I cant do anything so far. Mine is a county wide scheme.

Thank you. Just would feel safer with proof but if they issue an ID I’ll be fine.

Cinnamon trust sent us a letter which I can show on phone if asked.
Or I can show my profile on the GoodSAMApp if I volunteer for them.
So ime, they give you something.

You'll have some sort of email instruction for your task, so flash that

I'm volunteering for a local community help group and we have a letter that's been agreed by the police that we can show if we get stopped.

It'll probably be an app or a barcode that you download on your phone

The local group I am working with have allocated ID cards which are numbered and all local supermarkets and stores have been given the details and they also have an agreement whereby we can enter without queuing at specific times of day when we are shopping for vulnerable people.

@HalfDutchGirl that’s great. Was hoping I would be able to queue jump to save time as I would be supporting two families.

Thanks everyone.
