Car repair, WWYD

We need to take our car back to the garage - a recent fix didn't work so the power steering isn't working properly and there is a problem with the battery. This will involve driving the car there and coming back via public transport / taxi, and then collecting the car via the same route (in reverse) once the repairs are done.

The repair is essential because the car is needed in a few weeks' time for the purpose of taking a family member within the same household to a couple of essential hospital appointments. Other appointments will be required after that, too, so it's pretty essential we have reliable transport to get there. The hospital is too far away to walk to.

Is getting the car repaired ok or should we make alternative arrangements for getting to hospital (taxi, public transport or someone outside of the household giving us lifts)? Not sure either option is ideal but given the number of hospital appointments I think perhaps the repair is the best option.

It’s fine to get the car fixed.
