Tesco click & collect

First time poster but long time lurker. I've managed to secure a click & collect slot at Tesco for tomorrow. Dh & I both have an autoimmune condition & have both received letters re shielding. Mine was generic & somewhat contradictory. His is addressed to him & states he is moderate to high risk. Dh thinks it is too risky to collect from Tesco as it will be a virus hot spot. Does anyone have any experience of click& collect since lockdown? Do you come into contact with others or do they bring your shopping out & leave it for you? We have never used this service before so we don't know. He is considering cancelling & relying on friends.

At our one they bring your shopping out in crates on wheels and leave you alone to load your car

Friends or anyone else would have to have the same level of contact to bring you food

I used it for the first time on Monday, The click and collect station is in the car park. They bought my shopping out in bags, inside crates, which they put by the boot of my car. I got out, transferred the bags into the boot, moved the crates to one side and drove off. No contact with anyone, it was great!

All you have to do is drive into the carpark and then into click and collect bay. Open car boot and give your name.Staff load boot with goods in bags. Close boot and drive home. Unload shop and wash hands you will be ok x

When I went they told me to get out of the car and load the stuff in the car while they put it in crates. So a couple of men were very close. Of course, they handle the bags.

I did this and didn't even get out of the car. I popped the boot with my button thingumy and closed it same way 😊

Of course, they handle the bags.

How can anyone get any shopping without leaving the house and without someone else touching the bags 🤔
