How to heat up the paddling pool?

HAve been putting numerous kettles of water in but it's no warmer. Kids won't go in. Any other suggestions? Just wait for sun to heat? Which will take forever.

Do you have a sheet of metal you could sit the paddling pool on and it will heat itself from the sun? Surely, if you need to add boiling water, the its too cold to be paddling Confused

Get your toddler to wee in it 😁

I think you may be a bit optimistic getting your pool out in early april.

@crazydiamond222 we've had ours out twice already this week 🤣🤣

If you have the attachment put the hose on the kitchen tap and run both hot and cold into it. That's what I did anyway.

It's too cold for paddling really. Wet skin outside on anything but the hottest of British days is going to have little kids moaning and shivering.

I've just given mine the hose with various spray attachments and let them soak each other. After 5 mins they're freezing and want to stop so no way am I filling the pool now if that's as long as they'll last.

The first thing I'd do is look up a you tube video on how to engineer a home made immersion heater... then search the shed for makeshift parts Grin

It's lovely and warm here in the sunshine so fine for paddling it's just that the water is freezing. I am currently sunbathing.

We don't have an attachment for the warm water tap

Black bags on top of the water

The sun heats the bags, the bags warm the water

Attach the hose to the kitchen hot tap and run it out the window. By the time it cools down they will be use to the cold so won't really notice.

To be honest though I think we're at least a few weeks off paddling pool weather.

No help now but in the summer we fill the paddling pool first thing for it to warm up and then the dc can go in around lunch. I think it’s too chilly though, it’s usually June or July when we get it out.

Will copious amounts of duck tape attach the hose. If you can get it down to a slight dripping, it will go down sink anyway.

How big is the pool?!

Ours is out this week. A few inches in the bottom. Once their feet get used to it they don't seem to care.

Otherwise yes kettles of hot water. Or just run hot tap and ferry fuckets.

Christ it's 9 degrees where I am today Grin

Assuming you're somewhere much warmer. We fill it first thing in the morning and let the sun heat it til about 11am. My son doesn't really mind cold water though, he paddles in the North Sea 🥶

When it's warm enough outside then cold water will feel nice.

It's 22 degrees here, lovely. The kids are now in it. It has heated up in the last few hours. We're meant to be doing school work but sod that.

I second the black bags. Put them on it tonight, when the sun comes up tomorrow they’ll absorb the heat and the water will be lovely and warm.

Before you add too many more kettles of hot water, go and watch your meter going round as it boils.
That warm paddling pool will be costing you a small fortune!

Ferry fucket Grin sounds like an insult! “Stop being an idiot you big old ferry fucket”

A waterside is better value. The water does not have to be heated up because they're not submersed in it. They use up a ton of energy running and jumping on it.

I had no idea people did this, I've always just filled with cold and left them to it. Doesn't noticeably bother them. Obviously my children are tough nuts.
