Boris is improving!

I know this thread will probably turn into political stuff.
But I am heartened to learn that Boris is sitting up and engaging with his medical staff.
It's not about the politics, it's about morale at uncertain times.
We need some good news.
I wish him well, I hope he rests and makes a full recovery.

I hope so but I think you're reading a lot into a fairly bland and non-committal update.

I don't want him to suffer, and i think the nation will be stronger from having a political elite having first hand experience of the virus.

Not at all, I know exactly what happens in ITU.
And I am sick and tired of the negativity.
He's poorly. He might not be out of the woods yet.
But he's improving.
So I'm feeling boosted.
That's all.

Not sure how true it is and I'm always cautious about these sort of things.

Still if he's improving then that is amazing news.

Come on Boris!

I hope he feels much better soon, we're rooting for him big time in our place

I want him out of ICU too.
I want him zip wiring out of St Thomas' over the Thames and straight into Downing Street.
That won't happen, if he's on a ward by the weekend, discharged early next week and a couple of weeks at Chequers with Carrie and Boris-bump, I'll be content.

Lol. Let's hope he doesn't read that as he might take it as a challenge.

DowningSt should stop saying Boris is still in charge , let Raab take over for a few months and let Boris recover properly.

It’s good that he’s improving - but it shows how bad he must have been if they’re saying he was sitting up now.

I’ve been quite worried to be honest, because a lot of the time we don’t really hear much about the seriously affected victims of covid 19 until they’ve died.

Hearing and seeing Boris slowly decline and then end up in ICU has been very anxiety inducing.

@Iggly
I dreaded looking at the news yesterday morning, I had such a feeling of anxiety.
I know how you feel.

When he gets well again he can continue not to lead the country. #Rishi for PM.

@vera99
I love Rishi too. But schools will hopefully return in the Autumn, and he has to finish year 9. But he is top set Maths Wink
He's PM in the making, I agree.
Seemed a bit out of his depth today in press conference, but he's brilliant.

I'm happy to hear this. I've read so much where people are taking great delight in expressing how lacking in care or sympathy they were about him deteriorating, but for me I think our PM dying from his would have been a dreadful, destabilising event and very bad for the country and how we moved forward. I've no interest in arguing about that but it was my gut feeling so I am most relieved to hear that he's improving.

I have warmed to him through this, he would never get my vote but he has my best wishes for a full recovery

Yes it’s horrible isn’t it! I’m trying to stay off the news but it’s hard.

If you shut your eyes though he sounds like midterm Blair...my money is on Boris making a long and slow recovery and quietly bowing out. He only wanted to win the crown not occupy the throne and look what he has got. He will finally get time to spend with his family (the latest one).
