Pain between shoulder blades/acid?

I have been suffering CV symptoms for about 10/11 days, I can't be sure as I thought it was Spring allergies at first.
I had
headache that wouldn't shift,
horrid cough if I moved or laughed/talked, either freezing and/or boiling,
very emotional and exhausted
Slept constantly for 2days
Breathless all the time (asthma)

For the last 3 days I have had terrible trapped wind and awful pain between my shoulder blades and across my ribs
I have arthritis and thought lack of exercise and not taking anti-inflammatory meds was causing it
However, it's getting worse and nothing seems to touch it
I have tried peppermint oil and that helps but nothing eases it completely

Anyone else had the same?
Does anyone have any tips?
Should I be concerned and ring the doctor, I am reluctant to bother them at this time?

Just going to do breathing exercises, they do help with feeling breathlessness but not the pain

Sounds just like a gallstone attack. I would ring the GP if I were you and also take Buscopan to take the edge off it and avoid any fat in your diet for a few days. Hope you feel better soon.

Has your poo gone a weird colour? If so, it’s gallstones.

I've had the same. Sort of heartburn and pain in my upper back. It did go away but I thought I was better so went for a power walk last night and now it's all back.
Had mild CV symptoms starting 13/3.
I had just had a terrible tiredness lingering but now this again since last night.
Been doing the breathing exercises and lying on my front helps. I'm taking paracetamol again today.
Hope it eases for you soon OP.

Thank you all, I did wonder about gallstones but thought that was under the ribs at the front.

No change in stools, though missed out a bout of diarrhoea when first felt poorly.

Gallstones is pain radiating from front to the back, eased by leaning forward, worse at night and after greasy food.

Fat, fair, female fertile and forty, as I recall.

I think that I have read that the acid stomach could be part of CV symptoms but don't want to ignore something else

Lots of us on the My Lungs threads have had symptoms like this. You may have mild CV and it's reached the stage it's moved to your lungs. Lungs are predominantly in your back hence the back pain/ache. Try reading through those threads and see if sounds familiar x

I had similar symptoms. Bloating and heartburn on top of the more typical stuff. I was already taking heartburn meds but it got much much worse. You could try your GP and get something prescribed for the digestive stuff, or pharmacy for OTC options like nexium and gaviscon. Heartburn/indigestion can also hurt with muscle spasm pain. Most GPs won’t link the heartburn to CV however.

I think after looking on My Lungs that it is CV,
I did breathing exercises and slept and I feel much better though still feel as though I am wearing a corset and have to remind myself to breathe properly not shallow panting

Again thank you all

Yes. I've had this sort of thing on and off for several years now and tried all the medications. (I think the breathlessness, headache, cough, etc. are probably a random bug and not related to the trapped wind/digestive stuff.) The only thing that really helped shift it was ditching everything acidic in my diet and eating a far simpler diet, but I got bored of that, so now I tolerate a little discomfort in return for still enjoying Pepsi Max.

I'm on day 16 of what my GP says is CV and the acid reflux is horrendous. It causes burning pain in the middle of my back and chest pain.
I'm popping gaviscon like sweets and am on lansoprazole and it really does help

What an odd illness this is!
I keep having to remind myself to breathe properly as I seem to be just taking shallow breaths

Hoping this is as bad as it gets and sending good wishes to all of us in this madness
Take care
