Fake Paramedic No Ambulances Tape - Whatsapp 9:40m

Supersimkin2 · 08/04/2020 10:55

You might get a highly convincing insider report from a fake ambo woman saying all ambulances are cancelled and corona will peak at Easter, a third of victims will be babies etc etc but no ambulances are coming etc etc

Bollocks. Delete.

The person who made this tape - almost certainly known to MN as many phrases are recognizable from the scaremongering on here - is being pursued by the police.

Cunts like this are quite easy to catch, luckily.

I got this today. I took it with a pinch of salt.. my friend who sent me it sent it to EVERY ONE and was an emotional wreck!

It's terrifying.

But not as unnerving as the sentence will be when they catch the actor - automatic prison for that nasty dirty thing, yuk.

So the police know who it is??

Report
ArriettyJones · 08/04/2020 12:24

Forwarding it is nearly as bad as making it.

Don’t people use their brains? How could a paramedic possibly know this kind of (highly sensitive, future) info? How could the proportion of children amongst fatal cases suddenly shoot up like that? Do you really think anything scary the top brass did know would be passed on to the front line staff well ahead of time? And what kind of HCP would set out to scare people with info they can do nothing about?

Too many gullible idiots about.

Someone forwarded me that voice note via WhatsApp. Before forwarding it to anyone else, I checked online to verify it. Within less than a minute of searching, I could see that South East Coast ambulance service have made a statement on both their Twitter account and their website explaining that the voice note contains false information. If everyone did this before forwarding things, fake news wouldn't be able to spread and a lot of fear and stress could be avoided.

If only everyone would pause and think before passing such poison on - it's not hard to verify a source.

Supersimkin2 · 08/04/2020 18:20

Yep. People panic and spread the panic further.

Forwarding this shit is stupid and cruel.

I listened to it after I heard it was fake and can’t understand how anyone could possibly believe it. It just makes no sense.....

I got it. Freaked me out but immediately spoke to a friend from the ambulance serve who assure me it was a hoax.
It sounded very plausible and I wish the person who spoke a special place in hell

Can’t wait for the person to appear in court.

What a tragic specimen.

Haven’t WhatsApp limited ‘forwarding’for just this reason? Why don’t people engage their brains?

I had to call an ambulance for my mum a few days ago, it came much more quickly than any other ambulance we've called ever, not what I expected at all.

A friend shares shit like this and indeed shared this with us. I finally snapped after a long day being on the frontline and said it was unhelpful to spread misinformation.

There was a thread on here earlier today with the MNer v concerned - she asked then asked MNHQ to take the thread down.

I got this sent to me today and I have to say, I know we are all panicking a bit at the moment, but I do judge anyone who is stupid enough to believe it. It was so obviously bollocks!

I wonder who recorded it, and the thought process of deciding to actually record it and then send it out! People are weird aren't they?!

The woman was actually quite convincing in here tone but I didn’t fall for it. Just not right. I feel disappointed in the person who forwarded it in the group chat. It’s ridiculous.

Yeh it was a convincing tone but all ice rinks being used as mortuaries?! They are building crisis mortuaries with potentially massive capacity so they would fill up first ffs

It was not convincing in any way.

  • She declared a third of cases would be babies and children when we have actually seen very few of them affected.
  • She then declared we’d be banned from exercising next week. Why would a paramedic be told top secret info in advance?
  • she then said that her bosses said ‘people would be left to die at home’. Do you really think - even if that was the case - that they would openly say that to thousands of paramedics across the country.
  • and think about it, why would there be a decision for people be left to die at home? What’s the sense there?
  • then she added ‘babies and children too’ I mean, come on?

The whole thing was ridiculous. Use your brain

It’s easy enough for people to sit here and smugly announce it is obvious fake. However, spare a thought for people who have mental health problems, learning difficulties, language difficulties and a whole variety of needs that mean they’d take this to heart and be scared. There are many people out there for whom it was not obvious that it’s fake.

I agree it was ridiculous SugarSugarShimmy . I listened to about 30 seconds before calling bollocks and the inclusion of babies should have been enough for most people aware of the stats to know it was fake. But, lots of people clearly were worried about it and I’m sure it was horrid for some people suffering with anxiety. I hope the person involved is prosecuted and made an example of.

Have they? I am always forwarding memes etc from fb to WhatsApp, what have they limited?

What would they be prosecuted for?
Do we have laws against making and spreading fake news?

Report

We might have laws against impersonating a paramedic?
