Can I refuse to go to work?

Key worker and scared of catching it and passing it on to my kids- one uses an inhaler daily- I theoretically could do some work at home but not all. Anyone refused to go in? I couldn't stay 2 m away from anyone and I work with special needs kids so no personal space, etc.

You could.

They could also dismiss you for gross negligence.

I do get it though, all school staff are in the same boat at the moment. They should be taking steps to keep you safe.

We all get given gloves and disposable aprons.

Would you be able to live without the income?

Hmm I'm tempted. No aprons, can wear gloves when tolieting/ feeding.... not sure if I can justify the risk to my children..... thanks for replies.

I don't think it's fair to dump the risk on your colleagues because you don't want to. They all have families, too, no doubt.

Someone has to do it and most likely you colleagues feel the same way
