Has anyone seen liquid hand soap recently

I’ve been looking for some this week and there appears to be none. The boots website even says they won’t be getting any further stock. Is there a supply issue?

I managed to get some in Tesco this morning! They was on the end of the isles rather down the isle if that makes sense?

I bought some from M&S a couple of weeks ago when panic buying was rife. Was quite surprised it was in stock but I suppose m&s is generally quieter than other supermarkets

I got some in Tesco last Friday and they were selling it in the corner shop the other day. Often corner shops are better for getting high demand items like soap and toilet roll.

Asda this morning. Shelf after shelf. I didn't buy any as I already have a few.

Markses had some, this week.

Always worth hunting down the Method aisle

Is there a reason people would like liquid hand soap over regular bar soap?
I always use bars of soap am confused by the specific need for the liquid version. What am I missing?

Hospitals swapped from bar to liquid soap some years ago on infection grounds. I can’t see lots of high level studies to back this in a quick google search, but I think the evidence behind it was linked to bar soap drying out after use, perhaps not having been rinsed properly so maybe germs could remain.

There’s been some stock of liquid soap in Asda this week here.

I’ve seen it sporadically in shops, I have 2 spare bottles in my cupboard that I have had for ages so haven’t bought any

Yes, I have managed to buy antibacterial hand wash, also bar soap.

Out local Superdrug had full shelves today, and hand sanitizer - didn't have to ask for it under the counter like some dodgy deal!

I bought some in a large Tesco this evening. There were only a few available; the shelves had obviously been ransacked during the day but I was chuffed to get my one bottle of Carex 😬

Had a whole row of antibacterial Carex in my local Co-Op yesterday; no loo roll, no pasta but handwash, disinfectant and bleach.

It’s nice hearing that shops are slowly returning to normal stock levels. I saw a full aisle of loo roll in a large Tesco this morning, couple of weeks ago the aisle would have been stripped bare in every shop!

Yes, it's called personal choice.

I always drink red wine and am confused by the specific need others have for the white version.

There were loads in Tesco's today. Including kitchen roll and toilet roll. 32 pack of toilet roll... can you believe!

Easy In my case, it’s because I find bar soap dries my skin much more than liquid soap. I’m not vain about my hand skin but over winter it can get so dry that it cracks and becomes very sore. Bar soap tends to make it worse.

Not a single one in our asda today. No soap or washing up liquid either.

The trend seems to be towards bar soap these days, in an effort to reduce the amount of plastic going to landfill.

I don’t use liquid soap as it doesn’t seem as effective as bar soap.

As someone in their early 20s, I grew up with liquid soaps (and shower gels) instead of bar soap - so liquid soap is my normal.

It’s more hygienic in my view, as I’m not contaminating the rest of the bottle of liquid hand wash when I pump the dispenser. You touch the entire bar of soap when you use it, how do you sanitise it after? Might be okay when you live alone but with others? Covid aside, I definitely don’t want to clean myself with the same bar of soap someone’s just touched after they’ve used the toilet.

From what I've seen stocks seem to be a bit hit and miss. My fallback plan is washing up liquid decanted into the empty hand wash bottles.
SpillTheTeaa I was relieved to see toilet roll back in stock - I saw a 32 pack too. I did a double take 😂
