I’ve had my daughter prosthetic leg appointment cancelled until further notice. I understand that there are more urgent appointments but I’m still really still really upset that her leg is now hurting and she won’t be able to walk soon.

Ds physio appointment has been changed to telephone which could be interesting. OT is also phone for the foreseeable.

Two semi urgent rounds of tests he needs have been postponed indefinitely, which as much as it is understandable as it’s respiratory based tests it would have been handy to know what exactly we are dealing with in the current climate.

He is due a hospital eye appointment urgently next month but can’t see that happening.

Hope they manage to find a way to help your daughter

It sounds like you’ve got a lot going on too. It’s hard not knowing an end date I find.

That is sad about your daughters leg Sad

My daughter (16) had an endocrinologist appointment cancelled. Her cholesterol is shockingly high - despite being a very slim vegetarian, it’s a genetic thing, her dads family all have it, so they were talking about putting her on statins now. But it’s now cancelled and I’m really worried. It’s nearly 7 already. GP etc doesn’t want to advise either. I just hope she gets an appointment quickly once things quiet down.

Daughter's vision appointment to try to work out why the vision is going in her previously good eye postponed indefinitely. Hoping she still has vision left by the time we get to the other side of this.

TwistyHair · 02/04/2020 08:13

I didn’t know you could have high cholesterol like that.

I'm supposed to be having teeth out one a week from 16th April. They've cancelled the first appointment but the other two are still in the diary apparently...

Oh my goodness, you must be so worried about her eye. @Kuponut

MS b12 booster. Recurring cystitis problem- which I am managing to manage.
Standard round of blood tests that weren't for anything in particular.

Three teeth. I made it sound like all of them...

I had my smear cancelled. Just have to remember to book in for when some sense of normality returns

Daughter's physio, SLT and OT are cancelled. Not sure what will happen about her paediatric and neuro clinics, the next ones aren't for a couple of months. I was due to start counselling, that's also cancelled.

TwistyHair · 02/04/2020 08:17

@GrendelsCat that sounds hard for you.

DS away to start orthodontic treatment. Had to get two teeth out, has had one out and other meant to be next week but cancelled so he’ll have to keep wearing a metal thing in his mouth to stop the gap closing up. Not as important as others who have posted here however, really feel for those of you dealing with more important issues.

twistyhair I'm so sorry about your daughter's leg appointment.

We haven't been individually told yet, but audio and ent appointments for my mild/moderate deaf daughter, we were expecting surgery this year to improve her hearing which is really unlikely to happen.

My son had just started process of trying to get am autism assessment. I've mentally added another year to that!

My appointments aren't important really.

Some really sad cases on here. Sad

My Mirena coil is overdue for replacement and they've cancelled the appointment and told me to wait "till all this over." Hmm

Thanks @TwistyHair. The timing's not great but we're actually very lucky, my daughter's doing much better than her prognosis and the therapies are mostly just keeping an eye at the moment. There are those whose babies need the early intervention much more desperately, and I can't fathom how they're managing right now. And just looking at this thread and all the kids with appointments cancelled.... it's sobering.

so sorry for you all.

My hysterectomy is now indefinitely postponed. ironically at my last appointment in January I'd asked to go a little further down the queue as I had planned a big holiday in April and wasn't sure I'd be fully recovered. Big holiday now also cancelled, obviously, so could have had the op after all.

My regular 6mth check up with my rheumatologist has been cancelled not normally an issue as I had been stable for a long time however they changed one of my drugs to a biosimilar at the end of last year and I've now been flaring since January
I spoke to them on the phone yesterday but they are not doing a lot of the usual actions (additional steroids) as they are too high risk
I can't even get hold of pain relief as it's out of stock everywhere. I'm waiting for a call back to see what if anything they can do.

Pressed post too soon! @TwistyHair I'm so sorry about your daughter's leg. Give her a hug from us. In case it helps, for you or anyone else reading this, I've found a lot of good paediatric physio resources on Instagram that might help keep things going while this is happening

Not that serious but since you asked, DS and DD have both had their orthodontist appointments cancelled so their treatment will be delayed for (at least) three months.

Report
MadameJosephine · 02/04/2020 08:34

DD’s physio has been cancelled twice, she has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and has now developed a limp

I had just started psychotherapy and although they have offered to do it over the phone I’m not sure I can make that work with work (NHS midwife) and a 7 year old. Finding it quite hard to keep a lid on my anxiety at the moment Sad

@TooDamnSarky that’s shocking
