No it's not. The mortality rate is based off the number of people tested, no the number of people actually infected. It is entirely possible that flu is 5-10 times more deadly than CV.

Plenty of reports and statistics suggest it. Germany is reporting a 0.1% fatality rate, which is about the same as flu, but that's based on incomplete testing.

Most vulnerable people never get flu because they receive a vaccination against it. Most other people have a degree of immunity against influenza viruses which offers some protection. Nevertheless 1000s die every year.

There is no vaccine against Covid 19. And no-one has any degree of immunity against corona viruses (except maybe those who had Sars/swine flu). So even if the number of deaths per 1000 infected is the same as seasonal flu, there are going to be millions more who get the virus. So overall death rates will be much much higher. So it will not turn out to be less deadly than flu.

I find it impossible to look at Spain and Italy and think, oh ffs it’s just the flu everyone needs to calm down, tbh.
I also find it impossible to see reports of front line staff dying from it and think ‘well, eggs gonna be on everyone’s face when they realise it was nowt to worry about!’
But who knows, maybe in a few months it will seems like the biggest, global over reaction if all time.

This argument is stupid. We have vaccinations for flu, and because they have been around for ages and due to the nature of them, most of us have a level of immunity to it; and yes still lots of people die annually. Now imagine if we didn't have vaccines or any immunity etc, of course the numbers will be higher and we would want to do what we can until there is a vaccine etc. Pandemics like Spanish flu weren't great either.
