When did you get the test results back?

Report
CtrlU · 30/03/2020 00:14

Personally I think it’s best to stay home. Although your now immune from the virus - it doesn’t mean everybody else is so they are still at risk.

What did the medical professional advise when they confirmed your positive test result?

Report
MajesticWhine · 30/03/2020 00:16

It's not clear yet if this gives you immunity or if you can spread virus to others without becoming ill yourself. So no, don't.

I'm not sure. When people have been tested afterwards, they had to test negative 3 times in order to be allowed home (from cruise ship). Even if you feel better, you cannot guarantee to be free from the virus as soon as you do feel better (?)

Did you all have positive test results? If you just had symptoms then you cannot be sure.

Report
feefee322 · 30/03/2020 00:20

They would test us as we weren't admitted to hospital.

We've definitely had it though, as had all the symptoms and a friend who stayed with us tested positive and was ill at the same time. They were allowed a test (England).

My baby also in hospital with a viral infection but they wouldn't test her. Said they didn't have the resources but said they were sure it was covid - 19 without testing

How did you get tested?

Report
EasterElf · 30/03/2020 00:21

If you have been tested and advised by your doc that it’s safe to go out then I think it’s fine. But you still have to avoid others and be rigorous about hand washing etc because I think you can still be a carrier? But again, the medical professional who tested you should be able to advise!

feefee322 · 30/03/2020 00:21

Wouldn't test*

You haven’t been tested but announce you’ve had it? Ok then... Just stay in as per rules!

Report

Without a test how could anyone be sure?

Ds was told he probably had corona virus. Still we are social distancing and staying at home, because i would not take the risk - incase that was not what he had.

Report
middleager · 30/03/2020 00:22

If your friend tested positive then I thought health officials contacted all those she'd been in touch with.
So she would have mentioned staying with you, surely?

Report
EasterElf · 30/03/2020 00:22

Sorry, cross post - if you haven’t been tested I think the advice is to keep staying at home. Sorry Sad would be worth asking a medical professional tho - can you email your GP surgery? They are obviously very busy at the moment but might be able to answer an email query.

The guidelines say you can go outside for exercise if you stay away from other people, whether you are in isolation or not. So yes, you can go outside.

If In doubt - just don’t do it. Stay home and wait for this to blow over.

@orangetwirl

Because our friend stayed with us, he went to chelt races - stayed at our home for nearly a week. We all got ill on the Sunday.

He ended up in hospital and therefore got a test.

We weren't allowed a test as they don't have enough resources!!! And we had fever, cough, loss of taste/smell...

We've definitely had it. Our direct friend was tested.

YABU

You need to follow the same rules as everyone else and maintain Social Distancing

Without test results, it's just your opinion you've had it
and the police certainly won't accept your word for it - why would they ?

There are many nasty viruses going round - you can't be sure you didn't get one of those

So you can go out for essentials, like food shopping
and for daily exercise

but don't visit other people

Can you please change the title of this thread by adding 'I think' or 'I may' to the title?

The reason we're meant to stay in is so we don't all spread it about, so no of course you can't!
