No, but then I won't get it back until the Autumn when all the pollen has buggered off.

I got it back today! It's lovely to be able to taste the wine again!
It took 16 days from my first symptoms, it's felt like a very long time!
I hope yours comes back soon Flowers

I'm partially getting mine back today. I'm 15 days since first symptoms and it's been about 6 days since I noticed a complete loss of sense of smell. I can now smell a few different things and there's a bit of flavour on some things now too

For me it took about a week and a half before I started to notice smells again, then a few days to come back fully.

@isitorisntit I think I had the classic 'mild' case, started with a scratchy throat, then a whopping migraine, and a day spent in bed feeling achey. Tight chest, burning lungs, then after 2/3 days of that I started to feel a bit more human, but it took about 10 for me to get back to normal.
I hope you feel better soon!

I was convinced I didn't have cv as I literally had a bit of a scratchy throat followed by a temp for 24 hours or so (last Monday). Then I lost my sense of taste yesterday. No other symptoms. My DS and DH both fine. If this is cv I'm probably about day 8?
I was thinking I'd be able to end my self isolation on Tuesday 're the 7 days guidance for me (since the temperature) although obviously DH and DS need to do the 14 days as I have no temperature or anything.
Do you think this will still be ok with the no taste thing or do I need to wait till it comes back? What have the rest of you done?

I got the aches and cough about 12 days ago, and lost my sense of taste last Sunday night. It's started to partially come back, but comes and goes. I went out after 7 days.

I can smell! Only a few smells and they have to be strong and right under my nose, but oh my goodness, it's nice not to be so 'nosenumb'. No real sense of taste yet, only salty and sweet.

I havent had any other symptoms but have had no sense of smell or taste for about a week. My temp ranges from 37.4 to 37.6 but I don't feel.unwell. Do you think its possible that I either have or have had the virus? There is so much confusion out there about this.

Out of all the possible symptoms I wouldn’t have thought telling people about losing the sense of taste and smell is scaremongering. More reassuring when you hear other people have it and get better.

I know it’s CV because my doctor who examined me for breathlessness told me so. He may be wrong but he probably isn’t. Loss of taste and smell has now been recognized as a CV symptom and interestingly for some asymptomatic people it may be the only symptom they have. What is your problem with all of this callmeadoctor?

Day 14 here and I am getting glimmers of smells.

@callmeadoctor Actually, no, I've not been on SM. The only people who know how poorly I've been and that the GP has diagnosed CV as far as he can without a test are my husband and children, parents and a handful of my closest friends. Other people don't need to be panicked. I don't need all the drama. But having felt so poorly I might actually stop breathing, and having been the only one who felt like this, and no one (even the medics) not having any answers... It's actually reassuring to 'talk' with others so you are not so alone. If you can't relate to the thread, don't read it.
