Covid

IF you believe coronavirus is a conspiracy...

... do you believe Boris is in on it?

I've read and heard a few people saying the it's a conspiracy to use fear to remove a lot of our freedoms in one fell swoop. But, unless he's a very good actor, Boris Johnson seems to be actually really reluctant to remove our individual liberties. So I was just wondering what people thought?

As a disclaimer I should add that I don't think it is part of a huge plan to do this, but I could maybe believe that it was an accidental leak from a lab or something. I think when something like this happens it's human nature to look for reasons why it happened because the thought that a random quirk of nature could cause these problems worldwide is terrifying.

I believe that Coronavirus is just a test. A secret group of people test with a relatively harmless virus to see what approach would work best if really lethal virulent virus would emerge. No, Boris isn't in it.

You clearly don't work in healthcare. HCPs would massively dispute this as harmless.

In answer to your question, if this is a conspiracy which, like you, I don't feel it is, I also I don't feel Boris is in on it.

Yes, our shape-shifting lizard-people overlords have hypnotised millions of sheeple into believing they have this terrible disease, all so they can control our minds with 5G!

No but I do believe there is something strange about how it’s only killing mostly BAME people. I think this is ethnic cleansing. The Chinese government have been killing Muslims in China for months now and then this virus comes out of nowhere and is more lethal to black/Asians.

It’s funny how they can’t work out how the virus jumped from Bats to humans. There’s pangolin theories and other theories, but surely, the Chinese, being so ahead in research and genomics can’t work out where the jump happened?

When this is over, there will be loads of things coming out, but it’ll be swept under the carpet.

Not a conspiracy, no.

It could have been an accidental exposure from the virus lab in Wuhan though. That seems a likely vector to me. Human error with catastrophic repercussions.

Where is the evidence that it is affecting ethnic minorities much worse?

Jj - there are indications. In the Uk and the US there seems to have been high profile deaths of people of colour including doctors.
However, I don't think that means there's a conspiracy theory!

The BME theory goes along with it affecting those with particular receptors in their lungs more. Children don’t really develop them until 9 hence the unusually low rates among kids.

I’m not a big theorist, but if you wanted to reset on:

  • countries that are a “threat” (Muslim)
  • the pension pot
  • the healthcare pot
  • more centralised control of food sources (small farmers are going to go bust, industrial will remain)
  • SMEs

All without a shot being fired and the population not reacting due to something the can’t accept (the death of children).

Then this is a pretty perfect virus...

So it is more of a money issue than ethnic minorities being more susceptible to it.

Lots of caucasian people including myself have asthma so I'm sure I'm as likely to die as an Asian or black person who catches it no?

I’m not convinced it’s not just nature though!

@kingis Your definition of relatively harmless involves 1,000 deaths a day?

I think it was created I lab as chemical warfare just like the other pandemics. I mean the plague was definitely started by genetic splicing. Hmm

No it’s not. Doctors and nurses aren’t exactly living in slums? In the UK, the first deaths of healthcare professionals were all black and Asians. And the list is growing. These people aren’t short of money and I am supposing live a nice lifestyle.

The virus is triggering something in people who are black or Asian. Whether it’s VitD deficiency or something else.

Ffs - how ridiculous. It’s not killing mostly BAME individuals. A huge proportion of hospital doctors in my health trust and other London trusts are Asian or other BAME - over 50% - hence the high rate of deaths in this group. This disease is indiscriminate and is killing white, BAME, young and old. Conspiracy theories help no one and are fucking insulting to all us working our arses off to try and help combat this awful virus.

tobee · 11/04/2020 00:13

As far as I'm aware it's not definitively know why BAME suffer more from diabetes, kidney disease etc is it? Irrespective of this current virus?

Btw I don't believe in conspiracy theory for Covid 19

Report
CocoCorona · 11/04/2020 00:29

It IS killing more BAME people than Caucasian! It’s got nothing to do with a high percentage of these people working at the hospitals. Areas in the US like Chicago (correct me on this, I can’t remember the exact city) are 40% black African, yet 70% of the mortalities of covid cases are black people.

Something is not right about this. Diseases are indiscriminate, but this one seems to be lethal to black/Asian people. I’d like to see the ethnicity of people who have passed away so far in the UK. I bet a big portion of those are BAME.

When Boris got ill I said it would be really interesting to see how it played out because if he bounced back having had minor symptoms and back on our screens in a week then everyone would be "it's fine, the PM is fine, we're all ok too", so it would be in the government's best interest to make him seem really sick for a while so people get it. A few people that I have said that to have asked me since if I thought it's all a ruse and he's actually ok. I don't think he is, he looked really sick before he went into hospital but having been reported that he was in ICU but not on ventilation has made me wonder if actually he is sicker than has been reported.
Not a conspiracy theory as such, just thoughts and conversations over the past week.

I think it's conspiracy to let China take the blame and then sue them for billions. It's a last ditch attempt to shore up indebted , collapsing Western economies.
