Quick OPK question.....

OK - probably a ridiculous question but given my recent dodgy ovulation history, I have to ask....

So...if you get a positive result on an OPK stick, does that mean that you will definitely ovulate? Or can you get a positive reading for LH hormone but then not actually release an egg?

I only ask because normally, I would get some kind of ovulation symptons - like cramping, heavy feeling, sore boobs etc. if I was going to ovulate...however...today I had a +ve OPK result BUT have none of the other symptons! Strange eh?

Will obviously still be bd'ing just in case though !

yes I think you can get a postiive result but not actually OV but worth going for it anyway.

In the book I've got, Taking Charge of Your Fertility, it says you can get a positive without actually ovulating as your hormones surge to try and get you to ovulate and that is what the opk tells you. It doesn't actually confirm the egg has popped.
