just a quick question really, for the last three cycles my period has been shorter (3 days) and lighter, do you think this anything to worry about? Is this a common thing? I have tried calling the docs to get an appointment but cant get through.
I am 30 years old, my periods have always been 5-6 days and quite heavy, now they have become 3 days (4 max) and are really quite light.

This happened to me. I was PG.

Might be worth taking a test.

Everything was ok with my DS (he is now 21months). but I still had periods - they were just much lighter than usual.

To ask the obvious question, are you pregnant?
If not, are you stressed? I have lost weight recently and it has affected my periods they are still like clockwork, but much shorter and lighter than they used to be

I wish I was pg lol, I have tested so many times in the hope I might be PG but all negative. Im not even really stressed at the minute though I am starting to stress about the whole period thing, I know its counter productive but.....

Hi asteri, thanks for posting this thread, I'd love to hear other views. I've always had light pain free periods for around four days. I came off the pill in 2002 when I concieved ds. I then went back on the pill and came off again in jan 2009. My periods are now very light and only just two days. I've been ttc for 14 months and had two mc's last year. I wonder if it's because there isn't enough for the egg to cling onto.
I've started taking baby asprin on the dr's advice, hopefully that will help. I'm 39.

Give acupuncture a shot.

I've had one course and my period has been much heavier than it has been for years (late 30s now). It thickens the uterine lining.
