Well, personally I don't like ov kits. Not sure, from reading posts here, they're to be relied on. I go with CF checks and when I finally start proper cycles will do temperatures, too. It's free, easy, and infallible - proves whether your OV or not and can also give you an early indication of pregnancy without tests (also a bonus).

There are plenty of places online where you can get the info on it, or there's my fav bedtime reading which I'm not going to promote again, but actually it's all free online.

thank you, would an ear thermometer do the trick for reading temperatures? I've read a bit about this technique but how does it provide an early indication of pregnancy? Does your temp go up or down lots?

Intrigued, what's you favourite bedtime reading?!

Hey, love the name thebfn .I have been told by quite a few people that Sainsburys own brand are really good as they look for a lower HCG in a higher volume of urine, so therefore are more sensitive. However I think that any of the own brands are quite good, I got my 1st BFP with an Asdas own, and before I miscarried last year I got a [faint] positive with an Asda and a negative with clearblue. You could also try Ebay and buy in bulk.

I also brought some cheapy OPK's from ebay but they didnt work for me.

Good luck x

thebfn - no you can't use an ear thermometer for temping, a good website for information is fertilityfriend.com. you have to temp over a couple of months before you start to be able to really interpret your own pattern of temps, but it about looking for a bi-phasic pattern in your temps, I would suggest looking at the website for more information. It also has information on testing early with hpts too.

OPKs in my opinion are a waste of money.
But if you do want to try them and get cheap hpts too, then ebay is a good place, I think it is fertiliy plan that I get mine from.

littlemissmischief and rainbowdays - thanks for your replies, I'm listening to what you're saying about the OPKs and will take your advice. I've just had a look on the fertilityfriend website and it looks very comprehensive so will have a good read of that later. I will try ebay for some cheap HPTs though.

It all seems such a rollercoaster and I just seem to spend every minute symptom spotting which is driving me crazy. Every time I get AF I swear that the next month I WILL NOT OBSESS, but of course you know the outcome!!

thanks again for your responses! off to check out ebay
