I know i should know what different hormones do but can someone give me an idiots guide to what does what and when? What's LH? What's FSH? etc

I've just had blood tests done as have very irregular periods (not had results back yet) I should know all this as had problems conceiving DS but I never really asked 1st time round and just took whatever the DR prescribed (Clomid).

Thanks

The pituitary gland secretes both hormones.
FSH- follicle stimulating hormone - stimulates follicles in ovaries to ripen eggs.

LH - lutenising hormone - stimulates follicle to release the egg.
