Hi I am 40 and this will be my second child. I am 3 stone overweight so am concerned if my baby will have enough room to grow. I am eating healthly and am continuing to exercise. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I start my journey. I am hoping I don't put anything on except baby weight!

C1NDY - bumping for you as I've read loads of positive stories on here (also I'm 40, TTC and as the name suggests not the smallest lady so would be interested in reading the answers)

Fatlady Looks like we might be the only biggies on here. I am 4 weeks pg got bfp confirmed on Monday. I am just going to do my best in keeping my calm. I get so stressy with the weight thing... but I guess I just need to forget it.

C1NDY - forgot to say congratulations

I'm sure we're not the only biggies. I've read loads of threads about people with successful pregnancies weighing a lot more - maybe have a search through the archive if no-one pops up to answer this thread.

I've never seen anything about the baby lacking space to grow and it sounds like you are doing all the right things with your diet and gentle exercise. I honestly wouldn't stress about it.

Enjoy and hope you're feeling well.

Cindy-I really wouldn't worry about the baby having room to grow.I was 6 stone overweight with both of my pregnancies, had no complications and have 2 healthy children.
Ds1 was 9lbs 2oz and ds2 was 7lbs 13oz,so both a good size too.
Enjoy your pregnancy and try not to worry.

Hi All, I popped in, not expecting anyone to have post... I am on the border obese but have stopped weighing myself now. I am eating much healthly and am still doing my walking trying to do 10,000 steps a day.

Thanks you for all your words, I am not going to worry about it but I am going to try not to put nothing further on.

Cheers guys!
Cindy

Hi Cindy - congrats. I went to my GP before TTC as I was worried about my weight - also bordlerline obese. The GP said she was more worried about my age (37 - having had fertility treatment to conceive no 1) than my weight and I should just get on with it. I am now pregnant and at my first booking in appt I weighed in at officially obese . Not exactly ideal but I am trying to eat healthily during my pregnancy and figuring that (as this one will be my last) that I need to concentrate on getting the weight off when I have had it.
good luck

Sazlocks This will be my last one, so am on the same thought as you.... forget the weighting in and think about it later. But I am trying to eat sensiably and hopefully I will not put a load of weight on.
