Someone said to me today eat lots of yoghurt for a girl but not sure why!

Or... is it all bollocks?!

I'm not sure about what you should eat or avoid eating to conceive a girl, but I have heard something like making love about 5-3 days before ovulation (but not any later), because it is the slowest or it could be the strongest sperm that produces a girl, I may be talking a load of rubbish though

no idea about food but pretty convinced i'd read that your more likely to have a boy if you orgasm first, a girl if you don't orgasm at all. Coz the boy sperm are week and need the extra help from whatever lady releases when she orgasms. And smalline is right about the ovulation- girl sperm can hang on in there for a few days, boys can't so have sex a few days before ovulation but then don't do it again coz otherwise the boy sperm released in the 2nd wave so to speak will beat the girl sperm from the 1st wave to it. Does that mske any sense. Google it coz i could be typing b0ll0cks. Only found out this stuff coz i've got 2 boys and colleague at work thought it would be hilarious to print this info out and stick it on my desk a couple of years ago.

Apparently it's calcium for a girl and potassium for a boy so the yoghurt theory might be correct.

thanks Smalline, i had this discussion with folk a few nights ago actually and what you say is one theory!

I saw a thread titled something like "grapefruit drinkers here we go" and i wondered if that was to improve chances of conception or something.

Och i dunno..

It's the chromosome the sperm carries that makes a boy or a girl (y for boy,x for girl) so what you eat would make no difference..when the sperm and egg join an xx is a girl,xy a boy.our chromosomes bring the first x and nothing you do will change that....sorry.

man can influence sperm by what he eats and you can influence likelihood of XX or XY buy making your womb and surrounding lady bits more or less hospiable for the poor weak, directionally challenged Y sperm.
