it really does depend on your PCT. its a bit of a lottery. the only way we can afford IVF because we have a ds is by egg sharing. cuts the cost right down.

its where you share your eggs with a woman who is unable to use her own for whatever reason. my cons has estimated that it will only cost us about £400 instead of £5000. however this does vary from clinic to clinic!

LM - we are in Bath and if you do not have children then you qualify for your free go. A friend who has 2 boys but none with her hubby has just been given a funded go as he has no children. I would ask and see what happens - don't ask your GP wait until you see the consultant at the Assisted conception unit to ask as GP's have no idea about these waiting times.

gillydaffodil - i am 23 and may have blocked tubes gotta have a lap and dye done at the end of the summer to clarify whether this is the case or not. jst trying to plan and look ahead of what could be the case. SoUNDS LIKE a very positive way of keeping costs down and helping someone have a child.

i dont think we will be eligable for funding as my partner of three years already has a daughter. im thinking maybe we will have to travel further afield to get funding but all will be worth it eventually am sure. i think egg sharing is something that i would like to do at somepoint anyway to help those who are infertile as i know that the last two years of my life have been emotional turmoil and would very much like to help others in a similar situation. i dont think you can give a better gift than that of a child. thanks for ypur advice you have really made me see that there may be some hope for me and that of others if we are not eligable for funding xx

Hi StickLM - can't help with the funding question though I hope the Lap & Dye helps (as well as diagnosing it can also help if the problem is not too severe)

Gilly - Hi! Any news on Ready - I can't find anything on here?
