If yes please join me?? I feel like a rollercoaster, one minute obsessed with an imaginary 3rd, one minute not sure as we're happy with 2??? Im approaching OV now and waiting for some OPK's I know we really want another (ok me really DH has been persuaded) but Im finding it scary. TTC baby 1 was exciting and depressing in equal measure baby 2 happened as soon as we tried and was a shock! This one has been 'ummed' and 'ahhed' over more than anything! Anyone get me?

Oh my word, you sound just like me!!!

Thats exactly how I have been, thinking yeh I've always wanted a third but then the next day I'm thinking but I have a boy and a girl, they are both at school, I should be happy with that, just got my life back, can work more hours now cos I have more time, and the next day I am craving a 3rd child again!!

Anyway I just went for it, knowing that in 5 years time once I have the 3 kids that I wanted and they are all in school so I dont need to ever go through pregnancy again!!

I know that if I stick with just the two kids, in say ten years time when its pretty much too late to have anymore I would regret only having two.

So to cut a long story short, I found out 2 weeks ago that I was pregnant. I will be 6 weeks pregnant on Tuesday. I am just going with flow, I have had a few days where I've thought oh my god am I mad but I would rather do this than regret not having a third in ten years time.

I hope this helps.

awwww thankyou, and huge congratulations how exciting!your reasoning sounds very similar to mine. we too have a boy and girl who are 4 and 2 and at first DH wanted to wait a bit longer but as Im nearly 34 I m aware that my fertility could be against us! I just know I would regret not having a 3rd! (or at least trying) I just want to get on with it. Good luck with your pregnancy hope you feel ok

and this sounds like me ! I have 2 Ds's aged 2 and 4 and have had thought long and hard about going for a third. Anyway, this month we went for it but stopped BD'ing on day 11 and I ovulated on day 14. Was giving the shettles method a go in the hope of improving our chances of a DD. Would be thrilled with another DS though as well !
Not due on until about 20th July so I must be imagining my tingling boobs right ??!

hee hee join the club! Imagined symtoms ( although could be real) are part of the process, nightmare! How long did you lot take with previous DC? MY 1st took 11 months and 2nd straight away but knew more about OV days 2nd time round as have irregular periods! I knew both times by the end of 2ww as nausea kicks in quickly for me .

ds1 took 1 month and ds2 2 months. Both conceived on day 14 which is when I ovulate. No tingling boobs today so not sure anymore... Cant remember when I got symptoms last time although i remember it was before my period was late. How about you ?

For those of you that had to 'persuade' your husband how did you do it?

(Have two DC and would like another.Hubbie says no it would finish him off!)

talked alot about the future and the fun of a big family and lots of grandchildren etc etc. Strange but it worked. Had to get him pas the sleepless night and toddler mental block he had !

This seems to be my hubbies thing. He cannot cope with the sleepless nights and the constantly 'rewinding' to the baby phase......

sorry chosenone don't want to hijack your thread....

Yes mousemole,we thought about doing a test last nite as i got 5 off ebay but decide against as last 2 times they did'nt show positive til a few days after i was due on and thought it would seem like an even longer pregnancy if we found out really early, sorry fufflebum can't really help on persuading hubbie as it was his idea to start trying now,but we just talked about them growing up together and having family get togethers when they are older, also there will be more of them to look after us when we are old !lol good luck everyone!

mousemole · 07/07/2009 16:40

oh yes, and as tobago says - more of them to look after you when you are older !!! Interesting tobago that your tests didnt show + till you were a few days late. Good luck...

ditto to loads of this! I'm ttc no3. have dd 4 and ds 2. Only just had coil out but am hoping for quick results as approaching 35 and scared by latest age headlines...!

Can't believe how impatient I feel for something to happen. Sway between total 'go for it' and total horror about what we're trying to do! I feel that I've just got the hang of it with 2 so why spoil the dynamics but me and dh both feel that someone is missing! Come on baby no3!

The press make you feel old don't they?! I thought I was being responsible by having children in my thirties and then suddenly there's all this stuff saying we're almost past it. It must be so disheartening for people in their late thirties who are ttc no1 or those who haven't found the right partner yet.

On a tinglier note...I've had the tingly boob thing too but I reckon it's my mind playing tricks on me!! it's so cruel! A bit new to mumnet but will join the thread again if I have any good news!

crumbled - happy tinglings ! keep us posted on what happens! I actually thought I was quite young in the conceiving stakes but the press make me feel about 60 !

Wow loads of posts since I checked! sounds like we're a fertile bunch really (fingers crossed!) My OpK's arrived today so will do one every day as cycles usually around 35 days!! have known them to be up in the 60's but generally better since I had lil ones, am on CD 16 so maybe approaching OV?? thought I saw some EWCM this morn but OPK only faint, will keep trying! as for persuading DH took 6 months and a focus on the future long term not short, luckily he's one of 3 so was ok really! Baby dust to all lets keep each other posted!

3 is fab, DD3 was born nearly a year ago and is utterly adored by everyone else, she is an utter joy and we couldn't imagine life without her now

so much so that we are ttc #4

Go for it, imagine yourself in 20 years time will you regret not having 3 children?

DH persuaded me to go for 4

am now on 2ww I think! I found some EWCM on CD 16 (early for me) and we'd had two BD sessions on CD14! My OPK's arrived on CD 16 too and had a linethat day. No line on sticks since? so think I OV'd on CD16 possibly C17 although with my long irregular cycles my body may have been trying to OV but maybe didn't god knows? will keep doing OPK's until AF here just in case! Think we may have BD too early, god I hate this...will try and put it out of my mind! Good luck everyone else
